It's more like profiteering: "Profiteering refers to taking advantage of unusual or exceptional circumstances to make excessive profits. I'll add that I think what grinds many people's gears is that the sellers have no intent to use the product when they buy, just to sell it for the profit which could have gone to the builder instead.

Back to 3L talk. I would love to see a 4-pole option on the Chromatron. That is the only thing missing IMO.

Yes, to a certain extent. The thing that bothers me the most is when a person buys a pedal for a good deal on TB and then flips it for an exorbitant price on Reverb. I wish TB could do something to prevent it. It could preserve the sense of community here, IMO.

I also thought of this (when I got my XD), but is it strange I can tweak the Chromatron enough to get the same extreme results as the XD on 4 pole option? It makes the 2 pole on the XD sound very bland, definitely doesn't remind me of Spencer's envelopes.

I've heard this is the case with the Proton, but I'd like to see the Chromatron do it. When you flip the direction of the sweep you (well I do at least) have to change sensitivity, attack and release to nail a good reverse sound. It would be nice, even if actuated by foot button, to change directions and just go

Yeah, I rarely use the 2-pole on the XD.

I often use a Triungulo Barbanera and that has a 4 pole option too. Honestly, that pedal is underrated (except by me… I may overrate it…).

^^^ this. I have sold many pedals on here for very fair prices that I certainly could have charged more for. Totally my choice. Why do I do that? Because I hope that when there’s some awesome pedal that I would like to try, I don’t have to grossly overpay for it and I can tap into my community here to help me out… And it works! I would also be a bit salty if I sold somebody a pedal for a fair price here, and then see it listed on Reverb for three times what I sold it for. Is it wrong? Probably not but it does seem against the spirit of things in my opinion… and I’ll never sell you another pedal. I understand the market and the value of things blah blah blah blah blah. And that’s fine. I mean, if I had some family emergency and I had to sell things for the absolute top dollar I could get for them, I would list them on Reverb and everybody else could go kiss off. But that’s not the case for most of these people most of the time clearly. Sorry to beat the dead horse. Just my 2c.

Not yet but I got in on the last XD pre-order so can test it out when I receive it and give me my thoughts then.

I have compared them, the XD has a wider sweep, gets way more wet, & has more of a synth flavor than the Barbanera but the Barbanera is alot funkier sounding. It's my favorite envelope of any filter I've tried & I actually prefer it in the 2 pole mode over the 4 pole. I wish it had the option of a down sweep & an fx loop would be great but its a amazing filter nonetheless & doesnt have any of the issues the original moogerfooger has.

Oh man. I spent two weeks with my Chromatron and my wife's Meatball clone on my board and I'm thinking that I might let one go, and not the one my wife made. Plus my You're Doom is looking superfluous in my band and any music I'm likely to play. Hm!

Not quite incidentally, we close on a house at the end of the month.

The Meatball clone is mine forever though. It took like a week to get it figured out, as it's highly touchy, but dialed in, it's the best filter I've had, and I've owned a Wonderlove, Microtron IV, Xerograph Deluxe, and a Chromatron.
