All this talk about pricing makes me thirsty...just like those pretzels.

Ultimately...who cares? You want to make a naughty and nice list...have at it. You want to point to hypocrisy in flip flopping opinions...have at it. I, for one, am gonna cash in on these stonks. Dolla bills y'all...capitalism and all that jazz...well...maybe? It is what it is. Sadly these days, trading is really the way to level the playing field...other than that, I like to try to hook up friends and those who feel the same way I feel about things when parting with in demand stuff. There are ample places to play where you can buy/sell/trade at homie pricing and the communities self govern. There are also places to max out your profitz...but now with many of those places, you have to take into consideration the tax implications if you sell a lot.

It used to tick me off, but now it's a runaway train so...whatever, I'm over it. Talking about it here is also kinda taboo and will almost always lead to no good...

I'm just really happy to see Spencer putting out product again. He's really turned things around which is wonderful to see for him as a person and for us as fans. The more of these he makes will also help to level out the playing field a bit...people won't feel so pressured to pay crazy prices when they know patience will get it a MSRP and that will hopefully push some of the opportunists onto some other commodity?

Wow, if you ever get a chance at one of these grab it. I think there was only 118 made, but they're out there. Most interactive controls on a comp I've used. It feels more like a tone enhancer than a compressor, which is odd not having a eq

My Proton V4 isn't getting any play time lately. Only way to get rid of it would be as a direct trade for an Octabvre Mini in any of the limited colors. Anyone?

I’ve got a red mini I picked up here. I switch between it and my oc2, so I might be persuadable.

Have always been curious about that one. I have a miura m2 which I love though & am not really in the market for another compressor... is it really life changing?

I've currently got the Empress bass comp on my board, but I've always been glad that I kept the PWNZOR around. Here's my modest collection. Not the newest versions, but I do have the trinity again, with the addition of the Doom 2. Boxes, manuals, bags (where applicable), rubber feet and all.

Did you replace the knobs on the comp? What's your serial number btw?

He should bring this compressor back, it would be a hit

EDIT: I see your serial, hopefully that's #4 out of the total builds, in searching for mine I learned there was a range of possible faulty specs

I remember him saying at one point in time that they were a bit difficult to build... would be great to see a new version. I'd love to see a 3Leaf drive pedal.

I did indeed replace the knobs. I ordered some extra when I dressed up another pedal as well. But I'm pretty sure I have the originals somewhere in my closet.

The silver sharpie on the side of the pedal and the box info says this is #4 of 25.

I've had a big Diamond (most saturated) , MK1 (very much like the Apex) & MK2 Empress, Broughton Apex (cleanest), Monocle, Monocomp (takes ANY input @24v), Omnicomp (Most versatile), CaliCB, Markbass Compressore and Smoothie (newest opto build) to compare, it's not like some peoples list but a variety, nonetheless. What I noticed at first was it didn't sound like a compressor, none of the controls acted like any comp I've used, I honestly thought something was wrong at first but when I realized which way did what, and that it has interior adjustments as well, I got it dialed in. It seems to affect your tone (in the good compressor way) but not strangle your dynamics, which I absolutely hate about compressors. Its another that will stay on and sounds amazing behind tube/resonant pedals, very quiet. I like to combine a higher output of tube driver pedal with a compressor to bring it back down, together they run unity, this will be that pedal. I still like my omnicomp in front, and the apex limiting if need be, in the back. I assume its no big box Cali, or LA2A, but this is a keeper.

Thanks for the detailed run down. Speaking of tubes, have you heard of the Effectrode PC-2A? Its a photo-optical tube compressor

Yep! I have it in the Growler's loop, I don't know why, but that Growler helps tracking tremendously with both octaves, fmeron, and the PLL - takes up some room though lol

A little tiny bit of "dirt/grit" and higher harmonic content can help tracking on some devices a bunch!

I had a Pwnzor for a long time but eventually sold it after I had a few clipping issues. Amazing with a P bass but I found my Stingray at the time would distort the input of the comp when digging in.

Even with the internal trimmer for the input gain dialled right back?

Yeah, did you try to run that gain adjustment back? I had to pull mine back a bit, after it even rivals my old monocomp (which could take anything and crush it)

Yeah, I rolled the gain back but the only problem was while it got better with high gain basses it lost a bit of its magic with lower output instruments.

Other than that it could easily be in my top 5 list of pedal-based comps.

Definitely in mine. Probably my #1 optical compressor pedal.

Was interested in this comment as I just pulled the trigger on a Stingray….my first ever active bass. Until now I just played passive Fender P’s and J’s (with which the Pwnzor is fantastic). But I needed to complete the Leo Trio. I’ll be interested to see how it plays with the Pwnzor.
