Zoom B3?

Unfortunately, the tracking on the Zoom B3 octaver is pretty atrocious.

Unless you're trying to save pedalboard space ?

It's not even really about saving space for me, but yeah... it'd help. My board is pretty full. See below!

A lot of pedals don't have the room inside to put the jacks on the top... they take a good amount of the internal space. Ever open up a B3K or MXR Bass Octave Deluxe? Jam packed. It's also the reason the Enabler's DI jack is on the right. It's the only place it would fit.

Yet there's also a bunch of pedals that are in unnecessarily large enclosures, that when you open them up there's really not that much going on inside. They could easily be in smaller housings or have jacks on top. Darkglass and MXR are tight inside though I know.

Now the way I see it is that I have space for either a rusty box or a polytope then the octave.

I hope the rusty box isn't a compressor!

Holy heck, that board is like a dream 3Leaf/Dark board. Do you find the thumpinator worthwhile with all the all high-end shaping tools you have? How do you like the You're Doom compared to the Duality? When are you going to get an enabler? Very cool board man, I love it.

Yes, the thumpinator is amazing, it seems to make everything better.

I love both You're doom and duality, they're so different, you can't crush cities with a you're doom, but it's just so musical. Also, the proton/you're doom combo is awesome. Those 3 are the fun pedals!

The tone I love most is simply thump>PWNZOR >B7K (drive at 10).

But really, the possibilities are freaky, the other day I spent a lot of time just with Duality > B7K I loved every sound.

Since we're on the topic of the Thumpinator, is it comparable to something like the Fuzzrocious BDPG? Does it just fill out the lows and beef everything up?

Not at all, it is a totally transparent high pass filter that removes useless subsonic frequencies.

I looked up the BDPG and they look like 2 completely different beasts. The thumpinator just filters out the low crap and let's the good stuff in. The end result is simple, a cleaner signal coming in your chain and to the speakers.

And, I'd like to add that while doing that it also acts as a high quality buffer, which I think is probably a big part in the improvement people hear for some pedalboards.

It's not named rusty box, just referred to like that by TBers because in some teaser pictures the enclosure has a rusty looking paint job.
