4 String bridge for F#BEA

My current bridge wont fit an F# gauge string. Any body know a bridge that would fit one?

The gauge of the string i want to use is .165

It would be great if anybody found a bridge that could fit a .195 gauge string

And i'll probably have to change my tuning pegs because they wont fit the strings either, so could i get some reccomendations on those

Don't give me anything about wanting to go so deep, i know its just thunder and not musical tones, thats what i want. I wanna shake the damn ground and cause an earthquake :bassist:

what sort of Bass? Warwick have a Dark Lord that is FBEA with .170 F ... if you have a Warwick (I'm at work using mozilla with all options off so I cannot see if there are any obvious hints in your avatar etc as to your quiver) maybe there is a parts option there?

Seriously, :::subscribed::: b/c I think this topic is going to start coming up more and more often as larger strings become available. ;)

A little off topic but where can you get a few sets of 0.170 gauge strings?
SIT strings seem not to interest with overseas customers (been there, tried that), in Warwick page I could not find where to order that thick strings.
Juststrings -where I usually order my strings- does not offer strings below B. Any "international" friendly string seller carrying sub-contra strings?

Try this thread, it has a few suggestions, including an ebay seller that ships worldwide.

It's easy enough to use a drill press and enlarge the hole for the string to fit, and then use a round file on the saddle to size the groove.

The hole would have to be very big for the 165 gauge. It's not worth it because it's not enough metal for the string to begin with overall anyway if a hole was drilled.

anything that is top/quick loading should work

after a certain point, drilling out a hole you have to thread the string through doesn't work because then it won't hold the ball end of the string anymore
