$67 Glarry P-Bass

Apologies if this has been covered, but could someone tell me how chunky the neck is please? I've seen 1.7" quoted for the nut width, but how are they front-to-back profile wise?

No problem the only thing that’s really been covered is the variations in this model of bass and how some of us are lucky and some of us aren’t

For instance I’ve been very very lucky with price but I’m UNlucky with quality YMMV

Basically it does TEND to be a traditional general Precision bass that are the prevailing dimensions (with maybe more of a U profile in the modern sense?) and very usually barely finished if finished at all!

As ever, though, it’s a bit of a ‘luck of the draw’ kinda thing with earlier versions seemingly the best value to quality ratio

My Glarry P has a 20 fret neck. My Glarry J has a 21 fret neck.

My Glarry P’s neck has the same nut width as the Glarry J.

My Glarry P’s neck is less chunky (has less depth, fretboard to the back of the neck) than my Glarry J.

My Glarry P’s neck is slightly narrower at the 12th fret than my Glarry J. (Based upon feel only - I haven’t put my digital calipers on it yet.)

If possible, I’d suggest specifying the 20 fret neck. I’d also suggest the P rather than the J if only one is to be purchased. But both would be a good value at $68 USD each.

Hope all this helps!

Yup...in Tampa area.
I got the glarry basses only out of curiosity and not need :) I have several pawn shop beaters and a couple of "good" ones that I like...these 2 make a total of 6 basses...all your bass are belong to us?

Really cool!
It looks just like my bass except maybe the bridge is in a better place…?

At as it happens, I have been considering/reconsidering my playing style, etc and I notice you have a very relaxed posture
- something I should aim for

I didn't always I was very aggressive when I was younger playing metal originals. I mellowed over years 50+ :) I let the amp do the work.

Great!! Just awesome! Now, can you upload a scored transcript of what you just played? Some killer licks in there.
thanks GretschWretch,
ahh no, I just made it up as I went a long got no idea what I was going to do. Just threw on the drums and ran with it :). The other one was also on the fly just followed the chords and the notes with in :)
If only I could sit back and just get older and better at bass!

Seriously you are as good a player as you are humble -Its crazy how bad technique can creep up if I’m not vigilant
Thanks I appreciate you saying so :) Just stick with it, it gets easier. I was in a original hair metal band and was a pick player for many years, It wasn't till retiring from the road did I try to bring finger style technique into my bag of tricks.

I started on upright as a small child (9) and my approach to finger style was from that, which isn't correct for electric bass, but I did what I could to improve it. :bassist:
