They all need to be taken out back by Angus and Malcolm Young and taught a lesson in having fun.

+1 the Young boys, even at 4'0" , were GREAT at giving dumb ppl lessons!!!! ;-)

I'm w/ most- sure the peeing on the car=a bitta fun- if yr pi**ed & silly, - but really we all just gotta CHILL. as they said- JUST WORDS!!! Let em go. a Dumb F**wit will get his evebtually & got it by the owner not hiring em again. I WOULDn'T reccomend peeing on anyone's anything-except lemon tree!!:smug:

Get on w/ the good stuff- MUSIC. leave revenge for the knuckleheads- there's already FAR too many of them around already, for us muso's to join em.:)

I peed on a lot of inanimate objects in college. Cars, walls, mailboxes, fences, lawn gnomes etc

If any of them belonged to people who disagreed with the message of my music (whatever that may have been) then I guess that's a bonus.

The OP's band comes out the loser. I doubt the guy intended to dis your band, even if his comment wasn't in good taste. You acted like a malicious bunch of nitwits, committed a crime in the process (public urination), and are now lower on the totem pole than the other band's singer. Your cause, however depressing, was not advanced by your immature and senseless behavior.

BTW, nobody buys records because the band supports suicide.

Sometimes the Universe just takes care of these things....

A few years back, I was in a goth-metal band named "Born in Winter". We played a show opening for The Fray (don't ask me how those styles go together), right before they headed out for their first major tour. We played the first slot. During the second band's set, the singer said, "I was born in winter too, but I'm not stupid enough to wear black all the time." We took the high road and didn't say anything. Now, three years later, this other band is nowhere to be found. Born in Winter just recently finished their first east coast tour (without me... ya know, the whole different musical directions thing).

you know, as a mature adult, i suggest we stop being mature for a second, and appreciate the urine attack on said van. High road, low road, if your in a band, and another band punks you out, piss on something, its awesome.

Theres alot of holier than thou people on TB, age should dictate wisdom, and the wise know they have to be young and stupid first.

If someone's not agreeing with you, shoot them in the head and carry on.

I think you should have jumped on them and broke their bones after the show. That'd be metal \m/.

But seriously, this thread had a potential of win on the "fun gig payback stories".It failed.:hmm:

Thick skin has nothing to do with it. I don't have to remain silent if I have something I want to say. I was trying to make it clear that it isn't cool to damage other peoples' property. If that makes me look like a moron in your eyes I don't care. And the most ridiculous part of this whole thing is that the people who peed on the van are in the band full of good samaritans with a positive message. If you can't see the chickensh!tness and hypocrisy in that you're a moron.

Your a little girl who pee's on peoples property when one thing gets out of hand. So what he dissed your band what do you think happens to professionals? they get the same thing do they chirp everyone back, piss on them, threaten them? no, big deal you could have laughed and peaced the scene anyways im done with this thread its too much of a lolerfest .

"socially-conscious message"??

For the most part, the audience can't hear lyrics or even care to process them for a "message" even if they could.

Almost nobody cares about a "message" in music. Some, yes...most? Especially in some local, bar situation? Come on...

Who's one of the largest selling groups of all-time worldwide? AC/DC. Know what their "message" is about consistently? Sex. Sex....and when it's not sex, it's sex. A lot of people aren't even aware that Shook Me All Night Long is about screwing, (if I believe what I hear from some), let alone that Thunderstruck is about getting blown by some strippers in Texas, and that Hard as a Rock is about being...well...hard as a rock, and that Whole Lotta Rosie is about doing a pretty fat woman.

Anyway, you get my point. Don't take yourselves too seriously, and don't worry about what any other band thinks of you. Do it because you love it.

oh and you are apparently very "Socially-aware" about depression and suicide, but think that "vandalism" and "public urination" is sport?

I got a nasty PM last night over a sarcastic post I'd made I responded very tongue-in-cheek & we are now cool. Not saying you could/should have done the same here, but making peace or not even responding to the other band's foolishness would have looked much better, IMO.

way to be there, Bono. You keep spreading that positive message of yours and keep being a "positive influence for young, impressionable teenagers".

Man... if anyone ever whizzed on my ride, they'd be whizzing into a bag for the rest of their lives. Your actions completely betray the do-gooder image you're trying to cultivate.
