a band insulted us, so...

Personally, I think you are the one who should be embarassed, not the person with the bad joke. Move on...

i dont understand how do you find that offensinve, in fact i think that was a funny joke about your seriounes about something, but then again i am no english expert
anyways long time a ago we won a rock contest, the winner was decided by votation, and in the last seconds we got enough votes to get to the 1st place and win, so the 2nd,3rd and 7th place band(all metal) starting to send me mails about how they were going to kick our (b)asses.
so what did i do? well i say this during the gig they were supposed to get us: i`ll to thank (names of the bands here) for all the support they give us, if werent for them we would not be here(the winners night) today

If you have any plans of playing bars and clubs when you are too old to gig at the teen centers you better toughen up. What that guy said on stage is "NOTHING" compared to the BS that awaits you later on down the road. Just throw in some booze and drugs into the mix and look out!!!! You are going to get all kinds of cheap shots, especially if you are in a "we've got a message" band.
My old old singer thought he was gonna save the world and stopped one of our shows to talk about bulimia....BULIMIA!!!! ***!!!!
When people go out to have fun and check out a band after a long day of work the last thing they want to hear is a public service announcement from some dude in a band. So you are going to end up with people shouting out stuff right back at you or another band making comments about it. Then it comes to an exchange of words during load out, usually by someones girlfriend to the girlfriend of the other bands singer or whatever. Then the fight happens and the bouncers who just want you guys to get your crap packed up and leave get really pissed off and breaks your guitar players arm pulling him off of some drunk dude. Then the bar owner never has either one of the bands back at the bar because of all the trouble.
Damn I miss those days.

Which was exactly my point.Example.earlier this year,I saw Carlos Santana.The show was great until about an hour and a half into the show,he got on his political soapbox,and stayed there for 20 minutes.People started leaving,including me.I don't care what cause you championing,there are areas for that. Keep that crap away from the gigs.Just another example of youth trying to save the world. Boy,have you got a lot to learn!

I sincerely hope that now or soon you'll realize that what the guy said was not a problem, but a joke (maybe in poor taste); and that your peeing on his van was no solution. You were presented with a situation and your reaction solved nothing. There's a good lesson here and I hope you've learned it...something positive can still come from this.

I don't think the majority of the TB crowd take pride in acts of petty, juvenile passive-aggression... not enough to brag to a room full of strangers, anyway. But then maybe I shouldn't be so critical lest you hose your shorts in a fit of red-faced indignation... wouldn't be the first time now, would it...

We were at first very warm when he said he was giving us props, but when he released that "zinger", we calmly got up and started loading out as they played, because unlike this jerk, we actually ARE serious about our message and don't respect people who don't respect us.

Eh, seriously though, sometimes the best way to get a message across is to take it somewhat light-heartedly. Like Bill Hicks said, let's lighten the mood a bit and talk about abortion. :D
