A CALL FOR ALL LAKLANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. My CAR JO4 came with a mint guard and I didn't think it went with the CAR at all. I bought a white pearl one from Jeannie's Pickguards and it looks great.

Yes, mine too, I really need to get a replacement. Couldn't decide on white pearl or cream pearl. Also I'd have to get one from Jeannie's too as there's nowhere here in the UK who'll do a replacement.

I have to wait until May as the stock is coming from the US to Holland to the UK so maybe they will be Lakland pups.
The pre will be retro fitted over here but I have been in touch with John East and he will send a template so the plate can be drilled accordingly.
The biigest change for me will be the neck profile- it's so much more chunky than the 55-94. The JO is prob a better match but I prefer the vibe of the 70s Jazz bass.
I will post a picture of the pair when all upgrades are done.

Sounds like you have all of your bases (or basses as the case may be) covered......sounds like your DJ will be a world traveller before it even gets to you!

"Vibe" it does!!!

I've owned my 3-tone sunburst Lakland 44-01 for 2 weeks now. I love it. It sounds so good. Can someone tell me which knob is the mids and which is the pickup? I know which ones are the bass, treble, and master volume. Just a dumb question I need answering :) lol cuz normally I'd know right away. I was thinking that the mid knob is on the bottom row and is the closest to the rear of the bass on that row and that the pickup selector knob is on the top to the left of the bass knob above the treble knob. Am I right? anyhelp could be useful and tell if what I thought was the mid knob and pickup selector knob is right?

*drool* Really nice bass. The sound clips for the Decade are incredibly GAS-inducing.

I'm confused, Laklanders--is there a Skyline version of the Decade, and if so, when is it expected to debut? The "name the pickups" contest mentions one, but I don't see it in the price list or on the models page yet. Thanks.

The winner of that contest will recieve the first skyline decade IIRC.
The text for the contest is a little tricky: "...you could win the very first Skyline Decade 4-string installed with the new goods..." I thought maybe they were already out but the site wasn't updated to reflect that.

Oh, wait, does this mean that the Skyline Decade won't be available with Dark Stars? Well, maybe for an upcharge.:hmm:
