Here's my new rig:

And they said Acme speakers can't get loud... this rig can go way louder that I've ever actually been on a real gig, even outdoors. Of course, we've always had PA support & stage monitors.

My DI gets way louder than I need on a gig with PA support and stage monitors :D

PS ... nice rig!

Well I've had my Eden/Acme rig for well over a year now and I finally got to really put it through its paces with a Turner Rennaisance RB5FL for a few hours this evening. To be more accurate it put me through my paces.

The whole setup really humbled me. As my axe is an Ibanez SRX500 the peizos on the Turner were far less forgiving and my Acmes passed every nuance of my ineptitude for all to hear.

Point for this post is that the owner of the Turner was as impressed with my setup and I was with his fish. He is a very fortuante guitar player who happens to have some nice gear so I hope I can get my paws on that axe some more as soon as possible. :hyper: :hyper:

Acme totally loves eden. The heft of the Eden's power section and the speed of the solid state preamp in the WT-330 really do wonders to whatever I put into it. Granted I add a poweramp if I'm going to use both cabs and play a gig, but just the 330 and 1 B2 is a HUGE sounding practice rig. I guarantee it will get under any kick drum I've ever seen.

Hello Acme lovers! I got to play through two B2's for a show a little while ago, unfortunately it wasn't my own rig. I was a bit worried about playing with someone else's equipment, as I like a very specific sound, but at the moment mine wouldn't have been anywhere close to good enough. The B2s supported my low tone surprisingly well, and I really enjoyed their sound.....so much so I'm looking to upgrade!

Anyone have any opinions on how a G-K 700RB and a B2 would sound together? Being used for mostly practices/recording/small venues and putting out a nice, mellow, low sound.

I finaly sent Andy a check today...for one 4 ohm B-2. He has a huge order he needs to fill, somethig about sending a large pallet to Italy. So I'll have mine in just over 2 weeks:hyper:
I'm looking forward to hearing this cab with my new 1001RB II (thanks Sounds-of-Ocean!) and RBV with Chromes..........should be somewhat fat sounding! now if I can just convince my music director to let me use it at church.

I have played a ACME B2 for 5 years. Bought it for ease of transport. Quality cab, SPL 93dB makes it an inefficient cab
and soft sounding. Very hard to EQ and get a punchy sound.
My ears cannot get used to it.
Would not reccommend for straight rock sound.
SWR 2x10 much louder than B2 but has a lot of coloration.

I've probably posted this too many times, but......

Cool rig!

I know I've said this many times before, but have you tried the vertical stack of B2s? It really does work wonders for dispersion and 'throw', whilst maintaining boundary reinforcement from the floor and keeping the top cab's drivers on-axis with your ears.

Trust me, give it some serious power and it will way overpower an SWR 2x10", assuming you want some bottom in your sound! If all you want is mids, then the SWR certainly has the edge. With 900W behind one of mine, it takes a very loud drummer to overpower me. And a pair is way louder.

Regarding the 'soft sounding' thing - they only sound soft if you put a soft sound into them. My bass is admittedly pretty damn aggressive if I leave the EQ flat and dig in, but even so, the Acmes really roars out front, with loads of attack and punch.

I wish there were more stores that carried acme. i am so curious. i might just have to get one to settle my mind!

More stores??? Unless you live in Australia or Italy, I believe the only place that you can get brand new Acme cabinets is to buy them direct from Andy Lewis at Acme.

He does offer a trial period but you'd have to cover return shipping if you didn't want to keep it.

If you want to try one, perhaps you can send Andy and email and ask him to forward your address to any customers in your area. I noticed a familar name in one of his customer comments, wrote to Andy asking him to forward my address to the person and within a day or so, I was in contact with a guy that I took lessons from 25 years ago...

wow talking about going above and beyond.

i guess i should of been more specific... i wish there were more used ones in stores. in memphis if its not used boutique we dont get to see it unless we buy it. i bought my old epifani sight unseen. when brian moved the low end to nashville any sign of boutique bass gear went with him. we have one store that carrys nice basses but the amps are bag end, mesa or ashdown. nice stuff granted but would just like to try some other stuff.

will take your advice and shoot andy an email or i might get lucky and stumble on a cab. thanks
