I would be happier with maybe 4.7 megohms like the ParaDi,
or even higher (10 megohm) for the Piezo's.
I'll still use the Hammer for electric bass and see how it works
for the upright. I'm hoping for a pleasant surprise.

I'm not a techie type, but the understanding that I've been operating on is that if the voltage matches (and the connectors) then the only other issue is the max current (they should always have an Amps rating -- usually on the wall wart cover) -- as long as the current rating of the wall wart is equal or greater than the recommended value for the device you're plugging it into then it should be OK.

Munji is correct. You can use another power supply rather than the one we offer, as long as it has the same specs, including polarity.

Our unit is cool though (IMHO). It is a universal supply (will work with any voltage from 100V to 240V), and comes with clip in prong configurations for, well universal use.

I onced tried a DB924 on my Fender Jaco fretless bass and was really impressed by the sound. Now that the Tone Hammer seems to work with double bass piezo, I'm eager to get one.

There is no reason not to get this box. It sounds great, has a very useful tone stack (love the parametric mids), allows for some nice grit/grind, functions as a DI (with pre/post EQ), runs on whatever power you have available, and it seems to be built very well.

That street price really surprised me, too. I hate to say it, but I told both Daves that they should charge more for the Tone Hammer!

When I first heard about these last spring I couldnt sell my Sansamp fast enough to make way for the Tone Hammer but It's been so long I went ahead and bought a Sadowsky Preamp DI about a month ago.
Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks but I may have found I will need with the Sadowsky.

I ordered mine from ... you guessed it, The Perfect Bass (they're in Baton Rouge). They didn't suffer any major damage at the store, but they've been without power, and shipments will be delayed. I ordered it in April, so a week or two more isn't going to make any difference. I'm just glad they got through it OK.

I don't know if you were making a joke (hard to tell with plain text sometimes), but he meant "blew up" in the sense of "got a huge explosion of popularity and hype", not in the sense of mechanical failure.
