I believe it will. At the NYC GTG, Dave Boonschoft said they have an 18-volt wall wart for it, but other brands would probably work. Of course, he included that they can't be responsible if a non-OEM converter is used.

I'm not a techie type, but the understanding that I've been operating on is that if the voltage matches (and the connectors) then the only other issue is the max current (they should always have an Amps rating -- usually on the wall wart cover) -- as long as the current rating of the wall wart is equal or greater than the recommended value for the device you're plugging it into then it should be OK.

The question is, do you need an E.Q. pedal, a D.I. or an overdrive pedal?
If the answer is yes to one or more of these, maybe you should try one out. Otherwise, avoid the G.A.S. as it's probably entirely unnecesary.

I use an AG500SC, but often have to use 'provided' amps at venues so decided it wouldn't be practical to have my overdrive built-in to the amp (i.e. the AG500 dual channel) in case I am unable to use my amp head.

Therefore, for me the Tonehammer will be great as I need a great overdrive and D.I., plus the e.q. can tailor my overdrive to exactly how I want it to sound.

I just wonder if there is anyone who knows the input inpedance of it. I'm considering to use it as my double bass preamp but if the input impedance is lower than 1M ohm then I guess I have to give up the idea.

Good question. I've been using a Sansamp ParaDi for both my
upright and electric bass. Its not 10 meg ohms, but its close
enough that it works well for both. I hope my Hammer has
a high enough inpedance to work with my upright too.

The hype here is amazing. The wait and anticipation, along with a few choice words from insiders, have got everybody pre-ordering by the boatload and screaming for an opportunity to buy one.

I'm looking forward to about five months from now when there will be a bunch of Tone Hammers in the TB classifieds. :)

Yeah, I can't wait for my used ToneHammer!!! :)

Seriously though, I have an Aguilar DB900 Tube DI that is amazing! I really wish that Aguilar had updated the tube DI platform w/ the ToneHammer eq circuit and added a selectable mic/line level output for the xlr..... Now that I'd be hyper about!!!

Off-topic praise for the DB900:
I played a big outdoor festival this weekend & brought along my Aguilar DI along with my Mesa Buster200 tube amp. Well.... the festival generator power was apparently whacky as my Buster head blew it's mains fuse twice & the guitarist had to run his Divided by 13 at half power. I really depend on a bass amp for my preferred tone, but I have to say that my setup through the tube DI and than out of the monitor (gave up on the amp...) sounded incredible! I cannot say enough good things about this DI, it really makes things shine in the studio and even passed muster as an amp "substitute" at the gig! note: another reason to have an independent DI & not rely on your amps' built-in DI!!!!

Input impedance is 1 megohm, so it should work fine with your double bass set up.
