ale or lager

Or free.

Someone gives me a beer to drink and I dont like it, I'll drink it.

Someone, who shall remain nameless (but you and I both know the name of the culprit), left the lion's share of a 12er of Bud Light in my fridge.

My girlfriend (now wife) decided that out of a sense of being efficient, she would drink the Bud Light, and let me drink the palatable brew, thus extending the life of our good brew.

She took a sip....made a face, made a smacking noise with her mouth, took another sip, and poured the Bud Light down the kitchen sink.

I remarked that the only reason that act was appropriate was because it was a closer walk than going to the the toilet that horse pee belonged in, and getting it out of the house faster was a good thing.

:D

Indeed, I know the guy, I remember you mentioning this before, I think.

But, you may have missed this part of my post. :ninja:

Bud Light = Fizzy Yellow water. Nasty stuff to say the least.

As the summer gets warmer and the beers are better colder, I find myself really enjoying the taste of a lager. Especially a dark lager. I'm also finding the taste of a wheat beer on a hot day tastes mighty awesome.

However, my hophead status still calls me back to ales full of the most delicious plant that is on this earth.

The only thing I'll add is that there's a lot more bad lagers out there than there are bad ales. Partly because most cheap beer is lager and partly because lager (especially pilsners) is hard to get right.

i have only just seen this thread and am consequently in the grip of excitement. i have also not read it yet, but will do so after i weigh in on this important issue. apologies if i repeat anything that has been said already.

lager - good for summertime, before-dinner, small hours, gigs-n-clubs, long distance drinking. it is a marathon event not a sprint.

ale - superb for winter, pubs, lunchtime, camping (no need for refrigderation), one or two or three pints tops, drinking.

if i had to choose, i'd choose lager. if only 'cause you can get dark lagers that are more or less ales anywey. HA! in your face, hypothetical situation.

I like both, but as been said before I prefer it cold. Bud light, or any other "value" beer is usually pretty rough on the taste buds. I prefer a strong beer, like some Guinness Extra Stout or some form of Sam Adams, or a nice IPA
