Thanks, can't tell you too much as I haven't got my hands on it yet, just waiting for it to be shipped from the Netherlands.

It's a 2005, mahogany body, walnut top with maple pinstripe and purpleheart laminate. The neck is 5 piece maple and purpleheart with an ebony board with MOP inlays and a crown headstock. Standard orion electronics. It's my first Alembic and, after over 20 years of playing bass, I am giddy at the prospect of finally getting my hands on one.:bassist:

Awesome bass!
I played it while it was in the shop (Bass connection Holland)
I't's an 2005 Orion with a Walnut top, Maple and Purpleheart accents, Mahogany body, Mop ovals, Maple with two Purpleheart lams set neck and Crown headstock.

Basically what he said :-)

Congrats!

Hey, Alembic lovers!

My old band (1990s) has put up a recording/video on YouTube.

The bass on the track is my custom Alembic Élan (pics in post #47), recorded by mic'ing the Trace Elliot rig I used in those days

• TE GP12XV pre-amp
• dbx160XT compressor
• TE 500W power amp
• TE 1528 cab (two 15s)
• TE 1048 cab (four 10s)
• TE 4052 "bright box" (four 5s)

(Both the bass and the rig are visible in the video.)

So, if any of you want to dig the tone that I was getting with that set up, here's the link:

Play it loud, and enjoy! :bassist:

WOW !! Awesome. Probably the NICEST Alembic I've ever seen. Then again, the Elan is my fav...
GREAT vocal harmonies !!! Great sound.
Alembic + Trace Elliot = Sweet tone Especially the GP12x !

Thanks, mb!

I had it made in late 1990, and I'm glad I did! I wouldn't be able to afford it today.

I'm taking her up to the factory next week for a little "spa treatment" - any messages for the good folks at Alembic? :D

The backing vocals were fun to do; they practically sing themselves.

...and, yeah - that Alembic and TE combination was fantastic. It was really big, though; I had to sell it when that band broke up.

I'm just glad some of the music has seen the light of day!

Thanks again... :)
