All-New Ampeg SCR-DI!

You don't need a screwdriver to change the battery. Just unscrew the rubber feet by hand. IMO it's a better arrangement than the typical flimsy plastic access door I've seen on many pedals.
The aux in is for plugging in an MP3 or CD player. The Thru jack, I believe, is what you're thinking of, and yes, it is strictly pass-through and is unaffected.

OK!!! Unpacked that baby and fired it up with my TCE BH250 and my new Ampeg SVT 210av cab...I have to say, this thing is pretty amazing...does it sound like an SVT 810??? Not entirely...does it make my mini rig sound like a bad ass version of a mini 810-ABSOLUTELY!!! The tone from this is truly Ampeg-amazing...warm, tubey, and all around classic...I absolutely love it thus far... Not a fan of the ultra high, but really dig the ultra low...I have to admit, I did engage in some "all out, blow your face off distortion", and found that I spent much more of my time enjoying it than not!!! While I probably won't engage in the "all out", I did find that finger style with a small amount of blended drive sounded solid...have not had time to try pickstyle, the bypass, or the phones/aux features...but I will say this box is making me happy and doing exactly what I wanted it to, so far...

The first thing I noticed is that it's bigger and heavier than I expected. I did a VERY quick run through. It sounds excellent. It makes my BA108 sound even more awesome. The SCR is perfect for what I was looking for. It's everything the Hartke bass attack and EFX Bass Soul Food wasn't.
Phones: Volume is "up" when none of the box buttons are active. Engage the tone stack and then the headphone level reacts to the volume knob from completely off to all the way up.

Not that they are really needed, but I found it sorta odd they came with no instructions in the box. I mean, yeah, it's all pretty self explanatory, but people are idiots.
I thought the same thing...well...except for the idiots part...but you make a good argument...
They did make an owner's manual for it. I wonder if it is a mistake that is not one in your package....?
