It's funny how the things hung on your walls become invisible. I forgot this was hanging in my music room.

Cool poster. Im sure if it wasn’t there you would notice lol. It found a home.

Just finished practicing side two of Abbey Rd. A guitar player friend of mine is coming over Monday. We’re gonna see if we can put that medley together. We’re starting it at “You Never Give Me Your Money”. A lot of fun to play. Really cool when you get to “She Came In Through Bathroom Window”.

Here’s the thing. I had been playing non-stop everyday for last 3 years. Literally. An hour to 3 hours a day. I would take a day off here and there but not much. The past year and a half has been just the Beatles.

Well the left/fretboard hand developed an issue. Very painful. Im thinking I was playing too much. So I had to stop playing for the last couple of weeks. It was killing me not playing her.

But here’s the thing.
I’m thinking I wonder how rusty I will be? Will I forget that medley? Will my hands be fumbling? But I have to get ready for Monday. So here it goes…

It’s all there. Im fresh. Playing better than ever. Remembered it all. It just was there. It was a relief. Now the wrist is hurting not sure what the hell that is now. Sucks getting old.
But the couple weeks of not playing was beneficial. Cool…

Is that you veteran players experience too?

1-3 hours a day? That’s awesome! Being that well rehearsed, your muscle memory will kick in and you’ll be fine (as you’ve experienced.)

Get yourself some Arnica cream for your pain, and you may consider taking Glucosamine to help keep your joints lubed.

Thank you @nixdad I will get some of the Arnica. And look in to the glucosamine. I’m just terrible at maintaining myself. If it wasn’t for my wife I’d be dead lol.
A guitar player friend turned me on to Blu Emu a while back. I have that in the studio downstairs. That ain’t helping me up here lol.

Interesting read, along with many others about the lost Cavern Bass.

I've always wondered that Paul seems to say he bought a right-handed Hofner 500/1 and flipped it over, yet there's no photo of such a thing. Yet, if he spent just £30 for it, I wouldn't think the Hofner factory would build him a custom lefty for so little.

Perhaps he paid £30 for the righty to use for a few days while the factory built his lefty. Then he traded the righty back in, with a few (several?) more bucks, for the custom lefty? He had already used Stu's big ol' honkin' righty Hofner, so using a righty 500/1 would be a bit improved.

That's the only logical way I can resolve Paul's stories of popping into a store and immediately taking a Hofner violin bass back to the band.

Not sure if this was about the Decca studio or the EMI studios on Abbey Road, but I heard on The Beatles Channel on SiriusXM last week, a soundclip from George Harrison about their early studio experience(s), something like "We had to enter through the Tradesman's door. The walls badly needed painting, with lots of broken soundproofing on them." Didn't sound like a history making first impression.

EMI Studios was an old place that had lots of atmosphere.

This is a room on the roof with four EMT140 echo units. You'd think that someone would take the time to clean up the place a bit. Maybe nothing was touched because everything had mojo.

Remote control units for the EMT140's.

The gray chasses are for tube amps for each of the four units. They were pulled outside for cooling. Note the wall sections with no tiles.
