For polished necks any regular cheap aluminum polish cleaner can get it to a buffed shine. I just use a microfiber cloth for normal cleaning. And it's safe with mildly soapy water

So check this out. I have some aluminlay glowy material i am going to stick on the back behind the logo cutout. It will look similar to this postit note I painstakingly installed

Also I filed the nut slots but still need to shape and polish it. I will borrow the tool shop in a couple weeks and getter done. I also will put some flats on . My usual thing and call it done.

If anyone's interested, there's a Hoxey neck on Amazon, stainless steel frets and chambered for 399 - easily the best deal out there. I ordered it, they say there's one more in stock

An update on this: for some reason there was an issue with Amazon shipping internationally, so I contacted Hoxey who offered me the same price for a new build ordered directly from them.
Hoxey promised 8 weeks and delivered, were very nice and helpful along the process.
I fitted the neck to a Squier contemporary jazz bass body. The fit actually isn't perfect and the neck sits a few millimeters away from the body, leaving a small gap. It still intonates just fine but I might get a luthier to redo the screw holes on the body at some point.
I'm very happy with the neck. It feels great, fast, light (chambered!) and easy to play. I highly recommend Hoxey for anyone who wants to try the Aluminium neck road. After having dealt directly with 3 aluminium neck manufacturers, Hoxey are easily #1 when considering price, quality, and communications.

Anybody need a Korean V2 X-Ray body/electronics? This idiot on Ebay has one although he's adamant that it's a US-made V2.
I even sent him a catalog pic and pointed out the bridge and pickups don't match the catalog. He's too dense to see it. He thinks that because it has the company address it's US-made.

I’ve been curious too, I guess for a long while (found a thread on here from 2011 where I posted asking about them lol.)

I’m always hesitant to start slinging buzzwords around when it comes to descriptions but, in this case, I would say the Alumas are full spectrum & “hi-fi” in the best possible way.

Speaking of perfect pairings, I’ve been trying out different strings on my TB2000 and finally put on some 45-105 DR Nickel Lo-Riders.. holy smokes. I’ve been a fan of DR for a while now but these sound and feel so good on this bass. GHS Bass Boomers were next on the list but I think this is it lol. I feel like the hex core is key, that bit of extra tension = perfection.

I’m having a hard time figuring out what body to pair with my Aluminati hollow core P neck. 60’s koa top Jazz, 60’s Oly White P or a P bass from Warmoth with a music man sweet spot route? I have the Jazz and P but saw Warmoth has 1pc bodies and I’m kind of jonsing for the sweet spot bulls in a 1pc Black Limba body. One of these is going to get my Status P neck.

This particular instrument has a lot of crazy harmonic / transient stuff going on (and SUSTAIN) so I’m pleasantly surprised at how much of that these pickups translate & convey through amplification.

This is all going off of maybe 20-30 minutes of actual play time (noodling) with slightly broken in strings to boot, so I will report back with more findings when time permits. But the first impressions were unexpectedly great. There’s an evenness of volume across the strings that is quite lovely IMO and a smoothing of the highs that just sounds and feels awesome.

I plan on snagging another set of these ASAP to try out in my “regular” P. I’m excited to hear how they sound in a more conventionally constructed instrument, but as far as this one goes, they’re definitely staying installed lol

That reflects everything I've heard, so thanks for that! Any idea if these seem to be high output pickups, or if they're like standard output from an "off the shelf" P bass?
