Lazy comes to mind not cheap

But I did it. For Christmas, I gave her a frown on her face. Good thing her family sent gifts, or there would have been nothin under that tree! I justify it as being anti-commericalism. Of course, that stance doesn't hold water when I'm buying myself amps, but...
I satisfy my GAS under the radar by horse trading used equipment, co-mingling incoming money and outgoing money to give the impression that no money is actually being spent.![]()
Sounds like your not going to have a wife for long. She's lucky I didn't pawn off the gifts her parents sent her and claim back the money for the turkey she bought.
Sounds like your not going to have a wife for long.
Even if this is a joke it's very poor taste.
1. no
2. no
3. sensible
4. insane by every clinical standard
Three of the four statements above are true. Am I a cheap bastage anyway?
- The only basses I play with my band these days are passives, because I don't want to deal with batteries.
- When I practice at home, I use my acoustic so I can avoid firing up an amplifier.
- I've switched from hot dogs to peanut butter and jelly as my go-to stable of sustenance between cooked meals.
- I didn't buy my wife any Christmas gifts this year, since I've opted out of holiday gift giving altogether. She gets gifts from her family anyway.
If you don't like the negative comments about the way the OP treats his wife/makes jokes about her on the net you should be like bill. FYI this is a forum people comment their opinions and the OP asked a question.

Yes giving your loved ones gifts for Christmas is what keeps wall street goingBecause any good marriage is based on consumerism?
The guy said he would pawn her gifts to pay for turkey!!!!! Joke or not that's stupidIt's funny how most everyone thinks women are all demanding and materialistic.
I'm not trying to brag here, I'm just saying... for example:
My wife detests shopping. The mall is usually the last place on earth she wants to be.
She only owns 2 pair of shoes.
She hates diamonds and warned me if I bought her a diamond engagment ring she would leave me.
She doesn't like other jewelry much, just a few nice blue topaz earrings. Never junk jewelry.
She doesn't wear makeup... which is good because I am turned off by makeup on women.
She doesn't care for material gifts with the exeption of flowers.
But heres the kicker.. she prefers fake flowers to real ones. "Real ones die."
She doesn't care if the toilet seat is left up or down or which way the toilet paper is. (as long as I flush every time)
Her only real impractical monetary sins are she likes to eat out way too much and she likes to travel.
Been happily married 15 years so far. Only 2 major conflcts in that time which we overcame and strengthened
our marriage in the process.
Oh yeah, she insists on buying me gear if I express interest in something AND IF we can afford it.
I have to purposely keep quiet about my GAS because I own too much stuff already. The spare bedroom is full.
If she read this thread and the guys saying the OP should expect a divorce soon, her response would be
"Why did all these guys marry such shallow materialistic women if thats all it takes to break the relationship?"

On #1, I've actually fallen in love with the Pbass tone for most of what I'm playing lately. Not messing with batteries is just a perk. I picked up a 1980's Fender at a pawn shop that has a reedy tone like nothing else I've held, and it was love at first listen.
Whatever trips your trigger, old sport.
