Am I wrong for this?

The Fender jazz sounds better to my ears than the Squier, but the 50's and 60's Squier P sound better than their Fender counterparts. This has been pretty much my experience IRL as well. I changed out the pickups on my Squier jazz and it sounds as nice as any MIA Fender now.

Guess this is proof you don't need to pay hundreds of dollars for a great sounding instrument. You may get a better build quality and a little sound for that $1000+ instrument but if you need something that sounds almost the same for less, then here it is.

a Squire CV Jazz? Changed the pickups to what?

I am considering buying the CV Jazz, the price is already a month's salary here, what more a MIA Fender.. So probably a CV and a change in pups would do me..

i too have heard this video 3 or 4 times and always thought the fender jazz sounded better , i got a CV jazz that was a little beat up used for like 200$ and i sold it as soon as i got the CV P , dont get me wrong there noth great basses but i think the P basses sound better overall.
