Yes. Google "st maarten airport" then click images. The runway is short and starts immediately across the small street from the beach. Some of the shots are even more amazing.

The videos of planes taking off and everyone getting sandblasted are the best. People acting surprised that engines capable of producing enough thrust to get a 747 airborne would make that much wind...

Been there. Actually, it is a little scary when a 747 is going 145 mph just a few feet above your head. Your survival instinct kicks in and you want to drop and hit the deck.

Used to be a beautiful small town, now over building has ruined it with more traffic and people

Yeah, it's getting pretty busy in Brantford as well. Day trips north and west of Waterloo show lots of nice, smaller places. Heck, even going west of London there are few places of any size.
