That may be true. The fan vs. artist thing is kind of confusing at times. It's been a hell of a week figuring all this out, including the promo stuff. Have a list of sites to send to for review.

New firmware swap platform module from Noise Engineering. 6hp. Stereo Osc and Dynamics modules in production.
If I wasn't already selling off VCOs because I have too many, VIL would be kinda tempting. As it is... I'll see if they come up with some firmware that is a definite must-have for me. (I have two Versios so far, so it seems likely eventually...)

Melotus and Lacrima. When those two became available, that's when I got the second Versio unit so I could use them both
Melotus I think sounds great, but find it tricky to dial in what I want at times -- I think I just need to experiment and learn it better and take some notes. The feedback knob for instance -- if you turn it up only a little bit it seems to hold onto audio forever after the input goes silent, but that's at least partially because there's ducking as you turn it further to the right.
The way it behaves, I'm about 90% sure that, instead of a single buffer with multiple overlapping play heads (like Clouds/Beads, Morphagene etc.) it's like a Gatling gun of delay lines that get crossfaded in and out. It's definitely doing something a bit different though, otherwise I'd just stick to Beads.
One thing about Melotus is it has shimmer reverb-like octave up/down on its tone knob, and for once I don't hate it! It's really effective with some material.
Lacrima is surprisingly great. I thought I would have little use for an auto-wah in Eurorack but it has a lot of character, with the saturation and self-modulation, and that Juno-ish chorus. (I do wish the chorus didn't apply to the dry signal too, so I could mix it in a bit more subtly.) More often than not I have the envelope set near neutral so it's not auto-wahing at all.
Before those two, Electus used to be my favorite Versio firmware by a narrow margin. It's like the Desmodus reverb, but with clockable delays, less diffusion/more distinct repeats, more distortion and longer delay times.
Desmodus is a pretty great atmospheric/synthetic reverb (except for shimmer mode, which can just die). I have the plugin version, so I'm less inclined to use the firmware now, even though I think it sounds and behaves a little differently.
Ruina is another one that was great in Eurorack form but I think I like it more as a plugin. The distortion can get absolutely ridiculous, the real challenge is dialing it back so it's not overwhelming. Or you can use it immediately after a VCO and add some animation and shaping to it (which I guess is an argument in favor of the Eurorack firmware). The plugin works oddly well with my U-bass though.
I love this module including the shimmer. I'm tempted to get the VST version.
I tried the other firmware flashes a while back and didn't find one I liked enough to replace the Desmodus, but I've considered getting a second module so I can have one dedicated and one variable firmware.
the real question is what are you selling?
I just sold Manis Iteritas and 4ms Ensemble Oscillator. I liked them both, but I've got Akemie's Castle, Odessa, and Shapeshifter, plus several modules that aren't dedicated VCOs but are still great sound sources, plus the Strega and Minibrute, plus software...
I'm also trying to sell a Befaco Crush Delay v2.4. I'll probably let go of Dreadbox Antidote and maybe WMD MSCL.
Odessa has become one of my favorites. It does take some getting used to though and I think it takes a light touch with modulation. And there are a couple of things that annoy me about it a lot (the fundamental always mixed in on the main outputs, and the lack of a sync input... and the fact that there will never be a software update because it's too much of a PITA to update an FPGA... even though Intellijel does it). But still, it's worth putting up with.
Thinking about picking up this desktop patch bay. Looks like a slightly more sensible version of the Boredbrain, with normals and everything. Plus the Bluebox has exactly 12 inputs….

Had a great time. Although I used a guitar instead of bass along with my synths this time.
My girlfriend joined the act and killed it on the theremin. It's very cool when you have someone who can actually play that instrument well.
I grabbed some stuff from Waves with their weekend sale. Keeping an eye on a few Perfect Circuit items with fingers crossed.
