Only had the 95000 for a short time. Got a few cool things out of it, but sometimes functions worked, sometimes they didn’t. MIDI sync would mysteriously disappear from time to time…cool idea, but no :)
I use the Octatrack for that kind of thing now

i've had it for all of two weeks and i use it wrong (glorified tape recorder with some midi to *play and record* plug-ins, not to keep as a midi track). main reason i got it was that i upgraded my computer, so live 9 was a thing of the past (already maxed out the os as it was).

seems like it's a bit quicker for what i do (but it's also a new apple). i'm using a new trackpad and either my technique is bad or live gets confused at times. tbd. the sound engine might sound better (?).

haven't really used the new features so much, as i'm working on a few big pieces that are taking up my time/focus.

i think they probably "improved" warp, which means that it doesn't do the artifact-laden glitching that i like as easily, so i'll have to work harder at it (or revisit how i did it in the past to see if i'm remembering my methodology incorrectly). also tbd.

mostly i was commenting about the price issue. $179 for the suite upgrade seemed reasonable. might be cheaper for the lower grades when they put it on sale? (i was on the mailing list, but i also bookmarked the page to see what was what.) are you a registered user?

Yep I’m a registered user.
Went from full suit 7 then 8 and 9 on standard versions since I don’t use anything on the huge sample packs.

last time I checked though on 11 it seems to have less instruments as standard 9??

again, i rarely (never) use the instruments at this point. i never had the patience to get into all their stuff (i like tactile knobs). the plug-ins i’m using are 3rd-party orchestral stuff.

i would wait for ableton to put their upgrade on sale.

Same, I pretty much use 15% of what the daw is capable of.
I use it as a glorified over priced editing tape machine.
Also for sound manipulation but I haven’t done that in the box in quite a long time.

it can do a lot of things. i do like being able to move big chunks of form around and do nano-movements of time offsets or glitching stuff up.

I also use this feature.
ok maybe I know 30% of what it can do
;)
I also like resampling and using a controller to sound manipulate with knobs and buttons. Midi Mapping is really easy on live thank goodness

I still haven’t worked up the wherewithal to try Ableton. If I ever wanted to do more writing in the box, Bitwig has my attention, but writing in DAWS has not worked that well for me on ‘experimental’ stuff.
I do wish I could find more plug fx that have a good modulation matrix instead of drawing it in as often

if i where to do it all over again i would not choose live as my main DAW
now i’m way too lazy to learn another one, tried and failed countless times

Thomann and Schneidersladen have the Xaoc Koszalin in stock now, though nobody else does yet it seems. I went ahead and ordered from Thomann, since it's going to hit Perfect Circuit way too late for the sale and US prices are going to make up for the "free" shipping anyway.

Cue the "is it still playing bass if you use a frequency shifter" thread :laugh:

I mostly use Bitwig as a mixer, recorder and plugin host and extension of the modular, I don't do any sequencing with it. I still like it quite a lot for the Grid, modulators and routing.
