Sad news.

thanks for all the great content, friends. Been reading em all before heading to sleep. Playing at Sturgis this week, which is always a bit hectic. 7 shows in the past 4 days. Currently doing laundry and catching up on stuff while I have a few hours to kill. Only ‘artsy’ kinda music I’ve been able to squeeze in are some experiments on the M8, which are fun to try, but totally unlistenable:)

Also, blew a speaker in my Berg cab, so actively seeking out a loaner/rental for the rest of the week. About 11 shows left to go!

They also have 3 new modules that were in development and they're selling in limited quantities. I'm intrigued by that Legion VCO but I'd want to hear a demo before buying. Of course this is probably the sort of thing one could resell at a profit and that's probably what's going to happen to a lot of these modules...

Somewhere I have a track I didn't finish, but using rain sounds as an IR was a rather epic effect.

I saw Robot Monster AKA Monster from Mars for the first time during the pandemic, probably on Svengoolie and may have enjoyed it more than I should have. Something about the video and music I came up with made me think of it.

The droney synth is a 4ms Triwave Picogenerator. I need to play with it more, integrate it into my setup. I just haven't been playing much at all the past few weeks. I feel like I'm working it out though.

I was just about to post and ask the same thing. I've emailed Graig at Recovery to ask how well it tracks and plays with bass, but yeah, minimal mention of this anywhere, which I'm a bit surprised at.

It tracks about as well on bass as it does guitar. There is a certain amount of playing to the pedal you have to get adjusted to (detailed in the online manual) i.e. string noise, etc.

My back pain has been clearing up. Not enough that I can play bass, but enough that I have been able to patch some synth stuff. I've been getting to know the Erica Black Sequencer, and even though I've had it a while a few things are starting to make more sense and feel more natural. I'm playing with the steps and time division for each track/pattern. My buddy sent me a video on some Bach composition ideas and it has me thinking of sequencing similar ideas. For example, Bach has a few pieces where the top voice plays a melody, while the bottom voice plays the same melody but starting at the end and working backwards. This is easy to do since you just copy the pattern and set the sequence to play in reverse. The trick is getting note choice right to yield something interesting.

I'm currently working with two-voice sequences. I'm thinking of getting a full-voice module like the Erica Bassline so I can save some space and keep the patching clean(er). I've had this idea for a while, but now with my limited time to sit and patch, this seems like it would be beneficial.

That sounds really interesting and I'd be curious to hear what you come up with. I'm currently working on voice leading in my lessons, coincidentally.
