Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

ha. never liked him. i had workmates who were into the rammstein/manson tune. which i thought sounded okay. fast-forward a ton of years and i’m a big rammstein fan. go figure.

but thanks!

That Smells Like EP is full of weird cuts. I also get the not liking him thing.

I passed on the Rammstein tour show in LA but kinda wished I’d seen the spectacle. 7 planes to ship the set from Europe. 4 days to build at each location. Almost 300 gallons of fuel used per show. Definitely worth doom scrolling IG for some pics and clips.

dude. i completely stressed over that. and feel semi-bad i didn’t go.

at one point i had thought of going to mexico city just cause… and they were going to be their too. saw some footage. dang it.

your boy t henthor is going to munich next year to see them, right? (i was getting reports from his socmed feeds.) you could tag along.

manson: i’m not a huge theatrics guy and lived through the manson and night stalker hysteria in l.a., so i was not amused by conflating sex stars and mass murderers. go figure. (yeah, i’m conservative that way.)

I finally uploaded the one complete-song video I took during the ZOMBI show - I didn't want to impinge on my own enjoyment so restricted my cell phone usage for most of the show (just a few seconds of each song to help my memory reconstructing the setlist later) - I didn't recognize this one plus he wasn't playing bass so I did the whole thing. Turns out it's from their debut album which I have but never really listened to until this concert jump-started it for me.

My own personal hell is amply supplied with those things.

Some updates: we have a couple days off so the wife and I are finishing track vocals (and a few edits) for the duo record. I am so happy to not be using ProTools.

Speaking of the ProTools record, that record has draft masters.

It looks like we might be getting a piano. Last night I dreamed that we were living in a giant old mansion* and in this library there were all these dusty books that belonged to someone else and a pipe organ. And I’m like “do we need a pipe organ and a piano?” I swear my subconscious psychoanalyses itself.

I’m excited to listen to the CCR tracks and contribute my own.

When I lived in Pittsburgh the housing bubble hadn’t happened yet, so I had friends that bought these enormous houses for a song. It was like that.
