Goofed around with making vocal sounds directly into the contact mic in my Arbhar. Sent it through the Mimeophon and sampled into the M8. No added effects and all sounds are just my voice through Arbhar. That said, it’s just a dopey little (nearly techno) tune.

at first i thought it was gonna be a bit like mike patton’s adult themes for voice, but then some of it was a bit s puppy-ish.

no drum sounds? what’s that really high bell-like thing?

It’s something that popped out of the Arbhar! With certain samples, I’d chop em real short and use envelopes/filters to make em more like ‘drums.’ The M8 played a large role in that part, because I had to sequence those bits. But other samples are very long loops with no chops or whatnot
Well I played with my pedals and tested them one by one and replaced the cables and alllll I have gotten it down to is my boss ps3 is acting up. Works fine by itself plugged direct. Every other pedal works fine in a chain. All the cables work independently. That one just if I connect the whole board keeps cutting in and out like a cable fail 
all I can think of is one of the sockets on the side or the foot switch is old and worn / dirty… ran out of more time to play with it so it’s off the board. Which sucks cos I paid a pretty penny second hand for it due to its rarity and don’t want it to be a brick!

Virtual whammy bar and/or capo. Claims and demo seem impressive. I’m sure of few of us could figure out some weird ideas for this.
Question for the synth nerds: other than Hydrasynth, what hardware synths have tempo-syncable envelopes? Relatedly, do you know of any hardware synths with tempo-synced LFOs that can operate as 1-shots besides the Micromonsta?
Question for pick bass players: does anyone use super low action and play with a pick? Can that even work? I seem to be farting out trying it, but it's with jazz flats (low tension is important to me).

yes, you can do it. will it sound good, well that depends.
you’re pretty much stuck with one or two « sounds » and « nuances ».
soft pick attack or hard and fret clank and nothing in between. I come from a heavy double bass background so low strings on a bass is counterintuitive. Plenty swear by it, but I can’t make it work. I need room to go from ppp to ffff.
Add the physics aspect of a vibrating string into the equation and you get more « proof » the the strings need space the vibrate properly in order to « ring out completely with all associated harmonics ». I learned that in school but please dpnt ask me to dig out my old music physics book, I doubt I even have them anymore.
then there’s the entire Gary Willis school of plucking and ramps n stuff, but I digress
imo, ime etc…..it just would not work for me personally. But one of my friends who’s a drummer and a very good bassplayer plays with a pick and low action to get that specific « clank » fret attack but he only plays rock on bass, so take that into consideration.

why resist the hydra?
i’m not super adept at pick playing. my guess is that you’re probably going to experiment (practice) both attack velocity and attack placement (where you do it on the string).

if those are too big, maybe the modal cobalt, though it only has three LFOs that can be tempos synced. two separate, one global (hydra has 5, not including the mod wheel LFO)
Recorded this while sitting in a star-viewing field in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania last week (photo at the end). Whenever I travel I always try to bring a battery-powered synth setup with me. Some of these short spontaneous sessions work out better than others.
