Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

So I was sitting around and wishing I could MIDI control my Transmutron’s crossover fade between effects loops A and B. Then it dawned on me that it receives CV and I just figured out how to to MIDI to Mod Wheel CV Control of my 0 Coast and Nyx.
BOOM.
I’m now drawing Mod Wheel MIDI patterns in Ableton clips, sending those to the Nyx, and then sending the Mod out on the Nyx to the Transmutron.
It seems to be working :)

I have no idea what you just said :)

Been really trying to learn my Elektron Analog Four mk2 better. For some reason, all my jams are coming out kinda playful/silly/80’s, but I’ll just keep moving and writing for now

Pretty sure I told you folks, but I ordered an Audiothingies MicroMonsta synth from the company in France. Got here in 6 days. It’s an 8 voice poly synth. About the size of a large fx pedal, but with a really well laid out UI. Under $300 and sounds fantastic. Highly recommended

Like a Mopho that is easily navigated- looks great. Velocity/ after touch?

Here is a close up view of the new Pulsar 23 drum machine by Soma Labs. Can't wait to get hold of this one. I'm on the wait list so it might be a while.

Ironically enough, I had a nightmare the other night that I went to a gig and when I walked on stage, this was in front of me.

...and I thought ZOIA was intimidating?!

When I was little I used to watch TV shows about UFOs like Project Bluebook and In Search Of, and I used to imagine what the control panel of such a fantastic flying saucer spaceship must look like, and I envisioned something like this. And I imagined that if the pilot didn't push buttons and turn knobs fast enough, constantly, for hours on end, then the vehicle would crash or explode.

Been recovering from a groin/psoas injury for a few weeks. It hurts to play bass, so I haven’t been up to much lately. Really bummed me out tonight. As much as I like all the complex
This is available for preorder today.

New Granular module in the latest Zoia Beta release. I was thinking of the Cloudy until I saw this.

Sorry about your issues! Granular module sounds fantastic

Glad you are feeling better @monsterthompson

I find making music to be a cure for many maladies both physical and spiritual.

Here is a pic of my newly redecorated synth space.

Thanks. It was the fact that playing bass had been aggravating the injury that was particularly depressing. I knew this group would get it more than others I could vent to.

That’s a good looking space.

Been playing around with granular delay stuff in Reaktor today, learning how it really functions and responds. Now I’m off to the local cemetery with my Zoom to try to grab some samples. They’ve got a duck pond, some peacocks, and a couple of mausoleums, including one with a piano in it. I’ve got an Exorcism themed performance coming up, so it seems like I might find something to layer in.
