@monsterthompson I'm with @dukeorock. I've had less than a week to explore my Oxi One but I really like it. I've been using it with iOS and some rather crap sounds, just so I really focus on the sequencing. It is mostly intuitive, and has a lot of flexibility built in. There are a couple quirks but I would say it's pretty cooked. The designers are also super responsive. I wrote to tech support about fuller MIDI-to-CV implementation so I can run my Linnstrument through it and output CV for all the various control parameters and a day later they wrote back and said they were going to do that.

The Matriceal Sequencer is an absolute blast. It's like Rene, but easier to grok.

Anyway, I am having a lot more fun with it than the Hapax, which was on paper a brilliant sequencer, but just not for me. I sold the Hapax to someone who loves their Pyramid, so they should be happy.

I'm also a big fan of my Vector sequencer, of course and am excited for his LFO module.

Speaking of Euro, I've got a Frap Tools Fumana coming -- got a good deal on a used one and I've been very curious about a filter banks and analog spectral transfer. I feel like it's the 4 dimensional chess version of a regular VCF. I've been very into this Keith Fullerton Whitman record where he took all these Serge synthesizer recordings and convolved them with voices. I have always been entranced by spectral processing but haven't liked the sound as much from the digital tools I've used. Obviously, vocoding isn't convolution, but it is a way of mapping two different spectra onto one another. I also like that you get 16 envelope followers, which is an absolute whack load of CV to send around.

I got sentimental because of Mutable Instruments finally closing their doors and ordered a Mutable Beads, which I think will be a ton of fun. I have been largely disappointed by hardware granular -- Nebulae v2 has a lot of little gotchas on things I wanted to try, though Qu-Bit support were great, and the Morphogene is cool but I just din't gel with the interface. Beads does what it does and nothing else, and it's modeless, which I prefer, and the only button combo is for gain setting, so I am optimistic.

My problem now is space. I tend to do better with a more contained Euro setup for signal processing and control, and fixed architecture synths as my sound sources. The Fumana is massive so I have to remove a bunch of stuff from my rack. I am thinking of cheating and either outboarding a handful of my utilities to a 4ms pod, or getting an Intellijel 7U case and getting some 1u versions of the utilities. It's more expensive that way, though. The desk I use for music is just a bit too shallow to accommodate a 9u case laying down. I think what I'd really love is a more modular modular setup, with a series of 3u 104hp cases.

Aha, Bela is starting to upload some videos where they show Gliss in action. The scale/meter mode looks fun -- using touch controls to scale, offset and clip an incoming signal -- as does the record mode, which can do looping and one-shot playback as well as a scrub mode so you can use it as a waveshaper. (Probably too low sample rate for actual audio waveshaping, but good for CV, and it looks super easy to overwrite it on the fly.)

i went crazy, so i have too many.

anywho, my plan is to use a make noise 7u cv bus case with a bunch of sampler stuff and some other goodies for live stuff. the other ones i’ll leave at home for the main work, which is all the big modular/poly/orchestra sample things i’ve been doing.

I started with a 6X84 case. I then added some side panels that allowed me to have a 9X84 case.

I tried arranging things a few different ways, but found my "logical" organization didn't quite flow with my practical use. I'm currently running 6x84 and 3x84 rigs. I have external in/out modules in each.

6X84 has a Erica Sequencer taking up a bunch of space. The top rows are OSC, SVF, and VCA along with delay and reverb. Bottom is the Erica & a PNW along with a sample module, stereo filter, and a quad VCA. This rig let's me get more hands on with the effects. I can also route a sub mix through the Erica output module, or split the output to a Strymon module and send that to external pedal/desktop effects.

3x84 is primarily the Bloom sequencer and Zoia, a Chainsaw stereo OSC, along with some misc. space fillers. I like being able to use the Bloom to make generative bits, then use headphones-out on the Zoia. It's a flexible and compact little scratch pad that doesn't need much in the way of patch cables.

I have a 12U x 144HP case, with Strega and 0-Ctrl parked in front, plus a Pod 60 for slightly awkward overflow. The big case has some pyrography by ny wife on the side, which is motivation not to switch to a different setup. Otherwise I might have downsized a couple years ago but then probably expanded again.

Well, you can set things up in pre by designing what gets sampled. Then you get an output of samples you can use to further manipulate. And then you can resample.

I'm happy because it allows me to sample some CPU heavy drum kits I have, then play them back without taxing my system, freeing up the CPU for other soft synths and effects.
