Given your history, I don't think the universe would allow you to buy any other guitar.
I haven’t definitely not bought it yet. I’ll post it once I’ve definitely bought or not bought it, presumably once someone else has snatched it up and saved me from myself.

i paid for my first fodera bass in part by playing guitar in a blues/rock band. i toured and recorded with les mccann from the ages of 19 to 23 (didn’t live playing guitar, but whatevs). so that history says i *should* have one.
…I’m tempted to contact the builder about doing a baritone version. I’d use it more. It’s gonna cost more, but if I use it…

I have a 60”x30” standing desk and I’m so glad I got it. 70” might’ve been better for the gear, but I didn’t think it scaled to my living space as well
Edit- if I had the 70” my Keystep Pro would’ve fit, but really the regular Keystep is fine as I rarely use a keyboard of any sort

That’s the same desk I have, just with a different color wood!
I’d almost be tempted to try the Wavebone desk but I don’t know if I trust them to deliver, or be a quality build. Also, they don’t make a standing desk. However they do offer an interesting keyboard tray.

i am, that’s why i jumped on that guitar (well, when the guy hit a price i couldn’t refuse).
i definitely read that with the MarlonB Godfather voice in my head.
...almost. looking at it on my bigger screen I realized it is similar but not the same.
Sometimes I drop out of threads for a while for no reason. Trying to catch up...
I do have both the Explorer and the Desktop. The only thing missing from the Explorer (other than the ribbon, which I'd have no idea how to use properly anyway) that's on the bigger models is CV in. The main reason I bought the Desktop was to get CV in (and because in my fantasy world I'd someday be playing live so I'd need both synths at the same time, but that won't happen unless "in my house to an audience of cats" counts as "live"). The guts of all the Hydrasynths are the same. And even though I'm late to the party, I'll also add that I only love the Hydrasynth more and more with each passing day. It's an unbelievable piece of machinery. So much so that my eurorack is basically taking the direction of serving the interests of the Hydrasynth (and bass sometimes as well), rather than being a completely standalone thingy.
FWIW, I'm going to get a midi cable to connect the Desktop and Explorer and try to get even weirder still by passing LFOs/envelopes/etc. through from one to the other. Should be fun, if it works (I know literally nothing about midi).
If forced to choose between the Desktop and the Explorer I'd probably have to choose the Desktop even though the pads don't really gel with me (so far at least). One could always add a midi keyboard to the Desktop if necessary. The CV inputs are important enough to me that they're the deal breaker. If I didn't care about euro stuff, though, I'd go with the Explorer. I guess I'd also say that the Desktop is a bit smaller than the Explorer, and feels a tiny bit sturdier. I do find the location of the non-CV inputs and outputs on the Desktop awkward, though. I'm sure there's a good reason behind it that I am too dense to comprehend.
And even though I'm way late, just for the fun of it here's what I picked up on the most recent Bandcamp Friday:
Hydra is definitely on the radar since it’s been out.
The last one that came out is probably the one that would “fit” me the most.
Unless it has some missing features the bigger flagship models have??

So I had to pick up the car with snow tires today. So while I was in the car, I picked up some cat food that we ordered. And you know, the vet is close to Moog Audio and I’d been thinking about getting another case. And so now I have an Intellijel 7u case. I also got a 1u Ornament and Crime (obligatory Adolph Loos was a fascist so f*ck him).
The was an Eventide H90 that just kept staring at me. I didn’t do anything about it. Also saw a Hydrasynth Explorer in person. It’s nice and compact, seems somehow moreso than the desktop though based on what @lucas303 says I’m guessing I’m wrong.

Some temptation:
While I could probably get similar sounds with my Akemie's Castle running through Strega, I like how dirty the FM is on this one.
I could sell the AC and free up 38HP in my rack, which would be nice. I might miss the chord mode, dual voices, waveform selection and feedback on the AC, a little... but I do like that grittiness!
This means I need to fire up the Akemie's Castle and see if I fall in love with it again like I do every single time I think about selling it.
