Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Well got complimented for my use of effects on one of the intros so that’s something…

basically turn on mbd1 distortion, slo set to octave down with warp setting so very creepy… then add afterneath delay and bass clone chorus…
creepy intro done!

that and have to say, mbd1 through DI straight to PA sounds so freaking heavy…

I'm digging the new @Starthief

Thanks :D

Lots of synth choir stuff -- it was a sound I couldn't get enough of as a kid and I still think it's cool. (Plogue Chipspeech, Waldorf Streichfett, some Mel-Lofi, and patching my own with unison detuned oscillators and formant filters.) I only used the Miezo a couple of times and the UBass once, heavily processed.

Giving my big board a refresh, waiting on better cables and velcro to reload everything. No current projects, but just love the ability to switch between SVT sounds and really crazy synth tones.

The two Dunlops control bit depth (Geiger Counter), and filter sweep (Barbanera)

I've been learning my new Spectraphon, aka Spoon. It's pretty much new territory, exciting stuff.

So I've got more modules than rack space now and have to figure out how to deal with it. Right now Akemie's Castle is sleeping in a drawer, but I don't think I'm going to want to let it go. Maybe Spoon could take Shapeshifter in a fight once I learn the array creation stuff better, but that doesn't free up enough space. So what I'm thinking about is selling the Minibrute 2S, to grab a 6U or 7U case. If I ask myself whether I'd rather keep Akemie's Castle vs. the Minibrute, Castle absolutely wins.

Something I plan to try is playing the bass through Spectraphon, while also trying to track the bass's pitch.

why "spoon"?

i also copped. for me so far, it's been a texture machine (not really a sequencer guy per se).

That Caverns pedal is on my watch list. How's it working for you?

Wheeler Walker's obscene country music videos as well.

Ugh. If I had a dollar for every friend of mine who sent me a song of his, wrongly thinking I’d find it amusing, I could buy a nice bottle of hooch.

I get why they think I’d like it given how much “offensive” material I enjoy. Heck, I even had a plan to form a country joke band. Still. I can’t.
