Before I even watch: I enjoyed the Lyra-8 but I cannot imagine a worse, non-modular match for the Bad Gear guy.
After: he actually liked it, I think. It sumo-wrestled him right out of his comfort zone and forced open his third eye, or something.
I still have mine and really like it.
Haven’t played it a while though.
It’s a very unique instrument, either you hate or you dig
I thought he was gonna hate the Lyra but it seems to have won him over for some reason

Loved it and used it a lot when it first came out and before I stopped doing music on an iPad. Life is frustrating enough
My iPad recently bricked anyway and I have no immediate plans to replace it
It’s a somewhat ironically named show. I’ve heard of several folks buying a piece of gear after watching him go through it. I think he’s pretty funny, seems nice and is insanely talented at producing music I would never listen to
Heresy! Seriously, I go back and forth on this. It's such a bargain for what it does but at the same time it also exposes you to endless OS update hell. I do love mine at home though.

I like them, but I’m trying to only use gear I could use live and I don’t want to use a laptop or iPad live. I may get another one soon, just not for music
Mine is primarily for YT wormhole and Hearthstone.
For the past few years my iPad was strictly for watching YouTube in my comfy chair in the living room. Haven’t had a television in years
i’ve done albums of live improv and numerous gigs with ipads (v2).
i’ve also used them when traveling to do recreational synth programming and wrote most of a string octet using dorico when on vacation (more current version).
i think they can be really useful.

Stylophone is releasing their first product ever that's not a Stylophone in any form.
Surprise, it's aimed at us sonic landscape lovers. It's a drone synth.
Twin oscillator with filters and subs, multishape LFO, Alesis reverb/delay, all routable in a eurorack format.
The workflow seems well thought and it's not very expensive. Sorry if this triggers your GAS.
Speaking of Stylophone, they now also have a combo Stylophone/Theremin which is kind of cool. I have one of the old school plain jane Stylophones which looks like a cheap toy from the 1970s and is mildly interesting to futz around with, but it looks like they are stepping up their game lately.

DFAM #2! I'm planning to take my Subharmonicon out of the 2-tier rack and replace it with this for kick drum.
It came a day sooner than expected - and Presidents Day no less! And fortunately whatever punctured the shipping box missed the DFAM box - whew!

Watching a Sun Ra doc. I have no idea what's going on.

Apparently the story goes that Sun Ra told his drummer that he needed a new drum and the tree was struck by lightning the next day.

Sun Ra is way out there for sure. The Marshall Allen and Gilles Peterson compilations helped get me into Sun Ra.
