there are a couple of crazy good turkish guys who play fretless guitar and baritone guitar.
the first thing I notice compared with the videos above is that fingers vs pick make a massive difference. Will be curious to hear how you use it.
thumb and fingers: i tend to play with a lot of force on bass and need to adjust my touch to the skinnier strings. i’ve been practicing more with a pick, but didn’t use it on this little example.
i tend to play pretty percussively at times anyway.
my guess is that those guys are using a lighter touch. they’re also using a lot of processing and/or effects.
my thing was just raw.
edit: my intention was also to try to give a few high chords and some percussive stuff on the high strings because i think there’s a lot of potential up there.

I may have dropped his name here before, but I went to undergrad with fretless guitarist Tim Donahue, who even back then (undergrad was 40-something years ago, I'm old!) was pretty astonishing:

Happy New Year everyone! I've been following along - I'm definitely a fan of PKD - I still have my father's copy of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
I dug up one of my Tetsu Inoue cds, Object and Organic Code. Here it is with images:
I don't think I've ever listened to the cd I have, and here's why - I open it up and:

lol - I don't think I have a - no wait - I DO! I have a player that could play this! But, it's on YouTube so I'll just listen there for now. The music - even the object of the cd - take on a different feeling knowing of his disappearance. He may have died in the Fukushima tsunami - it is still a mystery, he has just disappeared. My mother's side of the family is from north of Fukushima, they feel the affects: my uncle is a farmer, and he couldn't sell the shiitake he harvested for at least a year because it was too radioactive. I went with my aunt and cousins about 10 years ago - going past Fukushima in the Shinkansen was kind of creepy - I was already old, but one of my cousins was only 11 or so - would it be bad for her? Who knows! Even the people in surrounding areas don't know the impact it may have on them. For a long time, they weren't allowing people to go back to their homes because it was deemed "too dangerous" but people right outside that area? Fine. Sorry, didn't mean to go down that route - that's what's coming to mind as I listen to Tetsu Inoue though. I sincerely hope he is ok and just hiding.

Still checking things on my phone and haven’t scrolled much. I’m assuming there must be a plan to recover those. It can’t just be ages of links wiped out forever.

Wow the new update is hideous. Animated ads in the middle of threads are a hard no for me. Here’s hoping it’s growing pains and they will fix it. If not, we should consider migrating our thread to somewhere with less crap.
