Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Yessir. But out of stock atm on perfectcircuit.com

I could go check if they have a demo :)

Though I’d get busted at the post office mailing it to you

The joke is that I tried mailing a small envelope with guitar picks in it to Mr. Ugly, but the post office lady keenly identified there was something other than a letter in the envelope. Boom. Here’s your customs form AND that envelope is too small for a customs sticker, but we have some $6 envelopes over there that are big enough. I retreated, with a Plan B in the works.

Wow, customs officers clearly have an inferiority complex as a prerequisite for the job.
If they have a demo, hit me up. ;) Good thing that store is far from where I live.....

Edit I wanna use that mic for my noise\something project, wanna go at it alone but I can’t do yelling screaming vocals for more than a few minutes. That thing would be perfect.

Went to GC to check out a used Infinite Jets. Sort of meh to me, at least with bass. Couldn’t really get a sound I liked. Probably user error. Glad I got to try it at least.

I tried it at a shop and couldn’t get anything decent. Apparently you can, but the learning curve is a bear. I filed it under “life’s too short” :)

Filed alot of gear in that category.
Hate spending 3 hours trouble shooting a latency in patch A and why midi channel C doesn't sync with machine X.

Yesterday I had a $$%^*& problem with sample rate and warping in ableton.....was ccausing all sorts of weird noise and glitchy tones.....the warp was apparently set to "beats"....i have no clue as to why since i rare3use this mode.......dunno why but the computer trolls where out for me.

;)

I'm even thinking of using Audacity or maybe another DAW.....kinda of tired of ableton...but too lazy to learn anotber one...also open to cool add on free plugins for that cuz you guys know this stuff cold!!)

I thought you’d appreciate that effect :)

Last night, I was trying to record parallel clean and dirty bass tones using the Terminal routing I patched. Using my interface’s real-time monitoring was brutal because there was phase cancellation. Once recorded, I could use an Ableton utility to flip the phase and it sounded full again. It’s odd because playing the same parallel signals through a mixer and speakers doesn’t seem to generate the same issue. I’m just going to power through the recording process.

I like weird and glitchy but these where "clean" vocal scream yell tracks.

Then.....I mangled them myself to be weird and glitchy and nosiy.

Huge difference.
