Yeah, rabbit hole, here, too, when I saw the price. My big concern is whether or not I'd be able to find strings for this thing in 10 years.

If you are anything like me, buy 2 extra sets and that'll last a lifetime. I'm one of those guys that doesn't change strings unless they break. I hate the sound of zingy new strings.

most of the flaming came from people who never tried to make the comparison; they just “knew” it wouldn’t make a difference.

EVERYTHING affects the sound...even where you are standing in the room in relation to your amp makes a difference. It all depends on what kind of sound differences you are after...but I do find it comical when people get all hung up about the tiniest details being important and then brushing off the fact that the shape of the room you play in tomorrow can negate the nuance you found today.

there seems be a large part of humanity that thinks that their experience is the only reality. id it hasn’t happened to them, they haven’t seen it or they can’t imagine it, it doesn’t matter/exist. many of those folks are also not very inquisitive.

Ya....I'm gonna fit the biggest bus in the yard in a street that can barely fit a car.

For pop gigs I sometimes use my Aguilar Tone Hammer DI/preamp. Does a great job. For any creative music I go passive. The double win is passive works much better with pedals as well.

That preamp is so dope.

Edit: also just ordered a Korg Volca Keys synth. Anyone familiar?

Covid is low and stable.
That wasn't tooooo bad.

Was more the %@#^&$$*#&#&$& route that was literally impossible to complete with the huge electric bus I had.

Managed to squeeze the monster on a corner half an inch from a house.....half an inch from a huge tree with one front and one back wheel on the side walks. (Opposing wheels so i was corked like an accordeon)
That was completely nuts...... was drained after that.

And when I say half an inch.....I'm not kidding.....

Very basic board set up, but the volume pedal is just as fun and enjoyable as I was hoping for. With the drive pedal on, it goes for a cello sound i was jonsing after for months.

I suck with looping but looking forward to work with it more and maybe get started on more creating

I've only recently become aware of Lehle volume pedals, but they're on my short list when I finally decide to abandon the three different volume pedals I currently own, all of which I have issues with. Glad to hear that's working out well for you.

That's the best volume pedal ever made. Heavy, but brilliant. I miss having one.

I went and ordered a new mountainking megalith. I've been massively curious for years. Should be a couple weeks. I'm excited and curious what'll happen as I'm swimming in dirt...

I takes a long time to learn to actually “listen”.

Most people\ musicians dont like to make any efforts, that’s why many do not.

I think that's most people, sadly but honestly. I can see that in the college classes I teach, but a lot of times, they come out of it realizing that's not the way to gauge reality, because it ignores objective reality.

How you like the Infinity 2? The original was a huge beast, I get the impression this one's way scaled back.

Although I'm not a zingy string guy, I do usually change several times a year (although with so far only one potential gig this year, I probably won't), I'm not into the dub reggae sound unless that's what I'm looking for. I may write the luthier and ask about this, as I am seriously considering one, but the string thing's important. A five string or a six is the big dilemma, as this would be great for practicing my 6 string chords.
