Wait, are you saying a DL4 allows you to select either half-speed or double-speed regardless of how the original loop was recorded? If so that would be freakin' awesome!!! I' have plenty of loopers that let me do half-speed if it was recorded at "normal" rate, or double-speed if it was recorded at half-speed rate...but to be able to switch willy-nilly? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
i can’t recall if you have to set the dl4 up for slow speed, record and then get to high speed; or if you can do it cold. and i think it was one switch with single tap was for reverse, double for octave.
the bm3 requires you to either set up the half speed (push a button) and then go to the higher octave—or start higher (no button push) and go to the lower. you can program two switches to do different things. i have short tap for reverse; long tap for octave. the other switch i can use to overdub or clear a loop.
bm3 loops in stereo; dl4 does not (from memory).
so, bm3 using octave up and reverse.

Ill hide over here still struggling with my tiny ditto looper.
there are three loops, and there’s octave up and there’s reverse. plus i’m playing counter lines over it, so just mixing and matching, turning stuff on and off to create simultaneous events.
one loop is sort of percussive with a early reflection reverb. the chordal thing is either a panning trem or a chorus and then morphing between a reverse delay in one channel and a straight delay in the other, via exp pedal (effect level up or down). both “solo” things are a the elements into a weird reverb (maybe some reverse?).
all boss 500 series stuff.
btw, two dittos, with manglers in between can be really effective.
Got the masters back for the next solo bass/effects improv record. Just trying to figure out what day to release it on....with this crazy environment it all feels strange as far as releasing anything....not that I'll sell many copies of a solo electric bass/effects record...hahahaha. pleased with how it sounds though.
agreed. I’ve been messing around with my old Ditto x2 after a H9 and a Blooper. A lot of noise can be made.
It's right after the election. I'm thinking not the most ideal time to release something.
Man, the Zoia isn’t my favorite sounding box, but BOY is it a problem solver. I wanted a noise gate for a noisy room mic. BOOM. I wanted an extra delay and reverb. BOOM. I could probably figure out a few more uses between now and Thursday’s gig.

Imo, there is no perfect time to drop an album atm. The whole world is FUBAR.
Looking forward to listening to it. Cool textures in that little teaser.
Re: selling albums.
In this day and age ,selling music is dead.
In any format. My old band was "kinda of known" in the underground and was distributed by Universal records. Ill just leave it at.....we didn't make much money selling CD or bandcamp downloads.
(CD is dead buried crossed the river Styx and gone to hell in 5 different alternate realities.....gone!!!)
No one buys bamcamp digital copies....well very very few do.....
Only thing that sold incredibly fast where the vinyl prints. 50 copies of the first album and 50 copies of the 1st ep sold in less than 24 hours.
We also had special autographed prints about 40....i think, they sold out in 2 hours.
Problem with vinyl, you need a second master. Very long waiting time. And they are freakn expensive, profit margin is small.
Also the artwork needs to be flawless for the huge cover (and tweaked to fit the format).
More headaches.....

Id probably forget I have a bass in my hands.
I may want to do a solo bass thing but I dont have enough tools (re...pedals) to do an adequate job for what I would jave in mind.
Ill have to let my mind spin on this , maybe I can make something with what I already have. Gear must not be an obstacle, that’s a horrible excuse IMO.
I'd have to do it post prod in Ableton, this tirn down the fun level to zero.

I've long given up on the idea of an album as a revenue stream. I look at it more as promo and for just forcing myself on the unwilling masses. All 2 of em.
