So, I guess the session went pretty well. It’ll stay up on that link for a while. Gonna try again next week.
We had a ton of fun. Some parts got wonky and weird. Some felt pretty decent. It was improvised noise. I’m sure ugly will sample something from it

Most of the gear shots are from my friend’s collection, and he’s the guy in the hat. There are a few still slides with my gear from the night, and I’m the guy in headphones with the Scumbag College shirt on. I never knew if/when I was on screen, so there’s probably moments where I’m checking my phone or picking my nose.

Ya. I have the minimal drone of his in my band's noise station board.
Well built stuff at good prices.
I like machine gun stacking the minimal drone with a loop pedal.
Turn both pitch knobs then rapid machine gun stack overdubs on the looper.
Pure chaos.....the good nasty kind. Add dirt for more dystopian fx
This was my first collaborative music work in about a year. I think I was having fun. I kinda forgot what fun was like, so I'm not sure if it really was fun, but I think that's what it was. It was nice to musically interact with another human, particularly one I've worked with before. I had a hard time sleeping, as I was... happy? I'm not sure what happy is in COVID times, but I'm almost certain that's what this was.
Just found a hack for the lack of a matrix mixer.
Instrument (bass or synth) goes into the Bored Brain Terminal. I use the Terminal to make a copy of the incoming signal and route it to the Zoom H5's 1/4" input. The Zoom mic is/was being used to capture live sounds, but I forgot it has two cable inputs. so now I've got a cable routed to one of them.
The Zoom gets routed to Zoia, which I'm using for the noise-gate plus other effects. I was originally placing it here so the room mic picking up little noises wouldn't pass them along. Now the bass or synth will go through the same signal path, and with a little tweaking, the gate should block most hiss from my single coil J pickup.
Creating a copy with the Terminal doesn't interfere with the original audio path, so that still goes to the delay pedal I've got.
All of this routes to the mixer, where the FX Send goes to a reverb pedal, so everything gets blended together.
... now I'm thinking of adding a comp to the FX send before it hits the Reverb...

I frequently gaze at the Bored Brain stuff and imagine what I could do with that, and matrix mixers as well.
I have the Terminal, Patchulator, and Transmutron. The Terminal gets the most use. It is super handy. I thought it wouldn't be as interesting as the Patchulator, but it really is awesome. The signal copying with the half-normal is key.
If you get it, really interested in your thoughts. I have been turned off to it cause it is passive.
I love my bored brain stuff. I heavily use the patchulator alongside a Pladask Elektrisk Matrise (active matrix mixer) to reorder things on the fly. The terminal holds everything together...all my boards and everything. It lets me also insert things into the chain. I havent explored signal copy much at all.
Any favorite mangler pedals atm??
Currently working with a solo bass dual looper thing.
Looking stuff up, chase blisd is out of my budget range btw.

Not its:
Bass -- ditto -- octaver -- dd7 -- red panda particle -- any dirt pedal -- boss rc3 -- mixer with reverb on fx send.
Open to suggestions in regards to signal path.
Was "maybe" looking into a Tensor as the first looper.....
Just brainstorming here......hypothetical.
Any suggestions are more than welcome and may spark ideas on my end. My brain was spinning this little project of mine none stop this week.....I think i have a problem.....
