I greatly prefer analog mixers.Even with all the disadvantages.
No page flipping etc. (I hate that live, when I mixed FOH. Flip 3 pages, go down 3 menues.....access EQ. Flip 3 pages EQ....back to main mix after 4 shortcut inputs.)

The huge advantage of digital mixers IMO is instant recall of scenes for live use.
On board FX have come a LOOOOOONG way in the last 15 years also. Now they sound freakin awesome.

Seems like a product looking for a problem to solve.
Also looks well thought out and versatile. The recorder is a huge plus

My 2 cents.

I agree about the analog mixers being easier to deal with live, but the problem I see this trying to fix is getting rid of the gi-huge-ic mixers that take up all that space on my rig. I do hate touch screens though.

Mixer touch screens live = pure evil.’

Might be different now, havent mixed FOH in over...hmmm 8 years.

In my old band we all had in ears we each mixed with our phones. I $%^&*&^%^&*^ hated it,, but was bullied into using this by the sound dude and 2 other @$$hats,

Anyone wanna buy my in ears???

Let's not forget the 1010 platform, including the Bluebox, Blackbox, Synthbox, and their various rack modules, all built on very similar hardware, using touch screens. I think they have a market and are supplying it with new gear. I'm certainly interested.

one thing that could be cheap is a tremolo.

if you get one that has variable waveforms, that can be pretty useful. square wave chop. also speeds that can be very slow or very fast (almost ring mod territory).

i’ve used the boss panning trem and the malekko sneak attack for this.

my post ct-5 setup uses malekko stuff: sneak attack, scrutator and charlie foxtrot.

a bit crusher or ring mod could be cool.

i always leave the manglers on with the effect blend at dry. that way i can get to them quickly without clicks and audio bumps from turning them on. ride the knobs.

btw, i’d put the dirt and octave before the first looper. if you want to play over the loop, you’ll find that having the dirt or octave always on can be a pita.

someday you might want a volume pedal.

but experiment until you find your system.

Already have a cheap tremolo I can use.

Trial and error ftw.

I just got a Beebo so that has been occupying my music time lately. I dont really.know what I am doing w it but the sound quality of the effects is excellent. I got a pretty good deal but these are still crazy expensive.

I would suggest taking a look at Mattoverse stuff. I have been really enjoying the air trash.

I got the Joyo for the live noise rig with my band.
Cheap, works ok. Perfect for dive bar heavy music gigs. spilled beer for the mosh pit......meh....on to the next song.
Last gig we did, people fell on the drum kit, drummer never missed a beat. Crash cymbal and tom went flying.Was awesome.

I must be the only one with a scratched up red panda pedal.

Patching my Zoia and trying a new tracking system for routing and parameters.

It runs 4 delays in parallel. Each one filters the source audio at a given frequency, which gets sent to a mixer which pans each delay. It bounces each echo from left to right and each longer delay is a darker sound, so it's a good horror movie effect. CH Ch ch AH Ah ah OH Oh oh kinda stuff.

Could you comment on the pluses and minuses of the Beebo. Build quality? Ease of programming? DSP limitations? Ability to mangle audio in real time?
Improvements you would make?

Definitely. This is going to be a journey. That’s number one. I am currently managing too many gear journey’s so there’s that...but this one immediately captured my imagination so I went for it when one popped up (they aren’t so available in the wild, though I know of another if you are into it I can share).

Build Quality - seems pretty solidly made...not fragile. That said, it’s a touch screen. This is a pedal...yes, but this is not meant to sit on your guitar board while you chomp through a wild night w beer and drunk people everywhere. This is a pedal for modular guys to experiment w pedals...but for bassists and guitarists there is also a lot there, especially if you are a studio guy. I wouldn’t want to drop it, but it’s in a metal chassis and I am clumsy w stuff and am not worried...as I typed that I grabbed the pedal to give it a look, and dropped it on the floor (oops - no damage except maybe to my floor). Touch screen seems durable but more of a plastic vibe than your phone.

As for the rest...we will have to wait and see. What I can tell you immediately is that I am impressed with the overall quality of the effects. First blush is far superior to the CooperFx Arcades and any other DSP based effect I have tried thus far. Very polished...presets are nice, but it takes a bit to get your head around it. I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface, but the power available is incredible and toggling between Beebo and Digit is nothing so it’s 2 for 1...just choose whichever color you like and logo for boot up.

you can’t use it real time (yet). It’s a computer. Boot up time is significant, switching time from presets is significant w audio artifacts...you can’t change mid jam without taking it out of your chain (effects loop would work). Everything I explored so far sounded really excellent...not cheesy. The control is unreal, but a lot to learn and understand. It’s a Zoia. while clicking around I encountered a bug where I had to reboot cause my screen was frozen. That said, I got this 2nd hand and it is several firmware revisions behind but it was updated within a month so this is actively being updated. I have yet to update hit will soon and it seems straight forward.


Tl;dr - I am n00b but very impressed. Pedal is in early adopter stage and actively updating and taking feedback so you can help shape it (if that’s your bag) and overall it is legit but has a learning curve.

New Zoia patch is done and up on Patch Storage. I'm pretty happy with it. I'll be showcasing it on Thursday, when I do another livestream event like the one I just did. Same collaborator. Who knows what will happen this time? I'm sure there will be similarities. I'm just happy to give it another go.

Time to build some new drone patches on the Medusa. I'm expecting to run a Krell patch on the 0 Coast, and may bring in the Nyx.

Solo bass thing project update:

- practiced lot’s , found ALOT of ways to fail.
- Suckage level dropped maybe 0.34567 %
- Cool combos with DD7 and Particle.
-OC up is cool to stack on different freq ranges.
- tried multiple signal chains.
- Main Problem, stacking on the looper.
All the nuance and “volume” changes must come from proper right hand technique and deep listening of the pedals reactions. Very demanding, concentration and listening.......
If this is not done, your end up with a pile of mud.

Unless I get 20 Ditto loopers hooked up to a mixer where I can adjust everything........NOT!!!!!!!!!

I don’t need more pedals, I need more practice.
Well, maybe one pedal..... ;)
