Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

These arrived. Time to get patching. Happy to replace the long yellow cables that came with the Erica.

His lat one wasn’t « bad », but the two he made with the Sinatra songs are absolutely horrible.
Guy who cant sing , sings songs by a dude who never wrote a song. Now that is a concept.
And I really dig me some Dylan. His last really good album was Modern Times from 2006 IMO.
Anyways now he has 300 milli for blunts, Biatches and 40s like Dr Dre said. (Dude almost never wrote a lyric, but that’s a whole other story.)

Re: you guys were talking about women vocals in metal. For me , the Queen is By far Katherine Katz from Agoraphobic Nosebleed. She will Ko you the efff out. Lots of power in that little frame.

will have to check out agoraphobic nosebleed then... I also randomly got into “the anchor” when the singer did that metal kitchen YouTube stuff ( and a few how to sing in metal styles by teaching her mum, that was funny) - she also a tiny frame with a heck of a lot of power... she tends to growl from the diaphragm rather than the throat so I guess technique conquers all?

Goes back and forth between the 2 effortlessly. That's whe I saw him live playing solo guitar for 1h30 then saw him with uberjam the same night 2 hours later.

Jerry Garcia used to do that, too. He'd tuck the pick in his finger stump when he wanted to play banjo style for his leads

I will at least say this, Dylan going through his American Songbook phase made him a much better singer. I saw him in Boston a few years ago, and I noticed that. Even singing something like Autumn Leaves... you can't just do that and mangle it, ya' gotta at least attempt to be melodic. I noticed that, in the entire show.

I always liked his « singing ». Never bothered me one bit he was off key of whatever, the emotion and feeling always made me forget it in less than as nano second.
Although I get why some cringe and run into a corner in foetal position, their loss I guess.
Same with Neil Young, so much good stuff. (Not as of late though.....ouch painful to listen to .)

I am just excited that we are on page 555!!! As a phish nut 555 has become a thing.

As for Beff Jerlin, I actually never even bothered to listen to his music (saw a bunch of instructional stuff from him which was a big turn off so I never bothered), but I do LOVE how he is so polarizing and encodes a lot of discussion.

agoraphobic nosebleed was a pretty big meh *for what i'm looking for*. (i get the attraction for other folks, just not my thing.)

what i like about tatiana in jj is that she goes between her regular vox and monster thing between beats (if you check out that clip i put up). and both versions sound pretty good. so i dig her control. h

er between-tunes patter is endearingly nerdtastic, so there's that as well. band is good too.

(all with the caveat that people can do whatever they want these days to make live things sound like the record.)
