Put this one together, another 'decay'/Basinski-like piece. This is actually a pretty busy Berlin-School arp smeared to all hell with the Blackhole ,then given the deteriorated tape treatment.

I keep thinking about the tone of this piece and my hearing issues, for some reason I'm really connecting them in some strange metaphorical way.

Funny, because there was an article in the Times or the Post in the last day or two where they asked historians which is really the worst year in history, and they said 1349 or something right around there, because of the plague. #2 was 1944. #3 was some year where there was some Indonesian volcano that had some sort of global ramifications.

I'm a history professor, and I always laugh when I hear young 'uns say how this is one of the worst times to be alive. I respond, yeah, it's so much worse than most of human history where a toothache could kill you.

I sequence the EssenceFM with the Octatrack usually, so that gives me 8 midi tracks. I shoulda sampled some of the stuff into the Octatrack, but decided not to. All that to say, one of the EssenceFM tracks was a stacked patch with several drum sounds. I tried to eq the hats down a little, but everything else suffered for it, so...
