And for what it’s worth... take all of the sy1 clips you have heard, dial it down via depth so it’s not overbearing and the use an expression pedal... juicy juicy filter sweeps and not so much of that treble screech most demos seem to showcase!
Pfft. Amateur. I used to make beats on a telegraph, that would later make it to the west coast a few hours, later. And then, later, I mixed on a half-track mixer, because single tracks weren't invented yet. You kids today, I tells ya.
Anyone have either a Boss DD-500 or 200? That Space Echo I have really is the most inappropriate delay I could possibly have on the Iridium, I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Looking for something not too expensive that does a lot. Has to be stereo. Suggestions? I wish I'd never gotten rid of my Strymon Dig.

I have to say, I like very few bass synth pedals, they just sound like gritty ass to me. The Meris Enzo's more my vibe.
I fully expect @ugly_bassplayer to actually own a half-track mixer and present evidence, because you just know he has one.
I prefer their studio recordings from the first four studio albums (Monster Movie, Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, and Future Days, Soundtracks could be in that group too) to any live stuff I have heard. The early albums were spontaneously composed in the studio and then manipulated with overdubbing, splicing, etc. I haven't listened to that Rockpalast recording but will check it out. Here's one of my personal favorite tracks - it has the ambient element, the electronic element, the cool bassline played on a short scale with a pick element, the improvised lyrics, etc.:
Varies track by track with me. My girlfriend likes them. She is a bit more into off the wall bands than I am.
They get lumped in with the "krautrock" label because they were German, but German pop music at the time was so weird and varied none of it really fits in a family.

I saw an interesting documentary about krautrock. It seems that West German society didn't get as much heavy exposure to stuff like the Beatles and other major Anglo-American bands in the early 60s and so their pop music scene basically grew out on its own, resulting in the exotic krautrock sounds.

you might guess that i have the dd-500.
i like it a good bit. you can do some interesting things like having the two delays (A and B slots) panned to different channels. i like to do things like reverse in one and regular in the other. it's not a well-known feature, but the assign menu allows you to program LFOs (they call them internal waves or something stupid) to different parameters in a delay patch (modulation, delay time). they also do have sde-3000/-2500 (or 2000?) emulations, plus space echo (i think). it also allows exp pedal control of many parameters. you can also use the tap switch as a momentary switch for some stuff, so you can cut stuff in and out (i usually use or a quick on/off for things like ultra-tight delay with high feedback).
it may not make you forget your strymon, but i like it.

Yeah, every now and then I hear something cool from them but overall, I think the singing's awful and the live stuff is just too sloppy for my liking.
