Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

So, I have an issue with my DSM OCSD as a pass filter. I like using it as an LPF to allow for distortion effects being used without too much harsh top end. However, it has an HPF function coupled with the LPF, which means it cuts out some super low end stuff I want to keep. I noticed this with a synth setting last night. Thoughts on a dedicated LPF?
I'm considering the Broughton HPF +LPF combo. It has a good reputation around here. It runs on 9-24v. It has gain makeup. The price isn't bad.
Dreadbox has a pass filter which does LPF and BPF, and LFO/Envelope functions. It is on sale, but still more than the Broughton, and bigger. It looks more synth friendly.

Other thoughts? Moog seems unlikely for me.

Watched a bunch of clips for that pedal today. Some real nice ales going on too. Very tempting!
I have the Broughton HPF+LPF and it’s a terrific pedal, IMO.

Playing around with sequencing the O-Coast into the Pigtronix Echo, into the Empress Echo, into the Empress reverb. So much delay.

too kind.
I just found the Max4Live 0-Coast editor. It was able to stop the 0-Coast from picking up the MIDI signal that was telling it to portamento every note until you get seasick. I couldn't find the menu page via that invisible button clicks, or if I did, I couldn't make it work.

The ‘invisible button clicks’ is the most frustrating thing about the 0 Coast for sure!

I like this because it drops in the Ableton MIDI channel. The synth usually works fine when it is alone (being driven by an Ableton-based plug in sequencer). But if there are other MIDI devices connected to the laptop, or even other MIDI channels running in the software, then everything goes portamento on the 0 Coast. This M4L device seems to filter out that noise.

Tandem shenanigans with my copilot for our next event. My sequencer into his euro rack synth into my effects.
While experimenting with different sounds and effects, last night, my friend said "this really sounds like Coil." When the guy in Skinny Puppy tells you that you've created something that sounds like Coil, you take that compliment to the bank.

Back then thereabouts, I was "assistant engineering" the graveyard shift at a studio and Dwayne Goettel (RIP) was laying some tracks just before heading out to Vancouver to join SP, he had the first hardware-based sampler-in-a-box I'd ever seen, back when E-MUs & Fairlights still ruled but obviously were about to be knocked off their pillars.
