I’m mostly in the same camp. FM perc just sounds so good at times and you get the Elektron sequencer

Agreed. Have you checked out the koala app sampler??
Very cool, they have added some very cool features in the last updates.
Time stretch, chopping uptdates, the samouraï edition upgrade.
Editing samples and chops is lightning fast.

Only down side for me.is a lack of fx.
So imported samples must be ready to go or bounced back into a daw or SP.

But hey, nothings perfect, and my hip hop beats are definatly not taking huge leaps forward with a simple EQ updates.....unless they implement an easy button.

If I ever get a better iPad I’ll revisit apps. I have a fair amount I never use at the moment. Patterning is a great drum machine app that you can easily import samples to

I get it, mt SP is still the main tool.
Still looking for the perfect non computer compliment to it.
As soon as I see the zombie screen, the creative part of my brain goes dead amd wants to check out memes.

I know.....octatrack.

Obviously :)
Elektron does have a drum machine called Model:Samples. You can’t sample directly into it, but importing em is easy and they’re very affordable

Any idea if samples from Ableton are accessible outside of using the DAW??
(From packs, drum hits, synth loops.....etc....anything in wav basically)
Look it up everywhere and could not find a definite answer.

Also anyone using AUM for iOS?? Thoughts, comments??
Same questions with audioshare??
Not an iPad dude, but koala and a couple soft synths I have are really cool.

Could become my SP companion if everything works.

They should be. The trick is finding where they are stored. Often you can right click on a sample and select “show in finder/browser” to get to the folder location.

I probably use AUM more than any other audio app. It just does what I need. One thing I do is set up a few channels with different soft synths, and then just use it as a sound module, changing the midi channel on the controller. I also use it when I want a quick stereo recording. Love it.

So you can basically route every app in the aum mixer to a master out then record???
I also assume each channel jas individual sends??

Well, the Miezo is sitting in the ether somewhere in Nashua, NH. Was moving along swimmingly and now it's tied up in the USPS... thankfully, I had my EADGBCF strings come last night. Ended up spending a few hours setting up my bass, I really didn't have it quite set up correctly, before, and now I nailed it.

By the time the setup was done, it was about 1 am, so I only spent an hour playing, both through the board and without. Still not sure how I feel about it, yet, I felt myself getting into guitar wank mode pretty quickly, but that may be because of the novel nature of it.

Few interesting observations...I have a few real deadspots on that high F, which is odd, because that CB bass normally doesn't. When I get up above the 20th fret, one or two notes just don't seem to be there. I wonder if it has something to do with the thinness of the string, combined with such a short length. I don't think there's anything wrong with the bass.

Really getting a two-truss neck adjusted can be stressful, esp. when you do end up needing a bit more on one side, as you're generally supposed to do them, evenly. I think I got it down, good, though.

Ebow sounds great. I also got a few chord with basslines thing happening.

I guess what I'm wondering is how things would change if that F was a .23, instead of .20. I've read about 50 different things, saying it's better, it's worse. Really don't know, but I'd love to not have a dead spot.

Also, had to fill up that empty space on the board, and ain't about to spend 350 on an Outward (I can't justify spending that kinda cash on things of limited scope - it's a cool pedal, but I don't think it's worth the cost), so I threw my Nemesis delay on there, that I had for the Iridium but thought was overkill. So now I have four delays on the board - Particle 2, El Cap, Nemesis, and Polymoon (also a few in the H9, but I mostly use that for the verbs). I've been getting some incredibly thick and lush sounds, lately, the kind one gets from a good polysynth. And damn, that's exciting.

Yeah, it's a bit tricky. You can do it a few ways. You can just record individual tracks, export and then pull into your daw. You could record the summed physical out of the iPad into something else. Or, if you use it with Audiobus, you can route it internally to whatever iOS daw you're using.
