Looks charming. I’d definitely have been there if I was in the area.

Good job!!!!! Nice tasty bass right there,
Congrats on hitting the “a” list. You certainly deserve it if you get the calls.
How’s your music sheet sight reading??a lot of nyc avant guys have been proofreaders in their day. it’s worked for me. i now do it at home, but also have done it in tours, typing in the van, etc.
Ok, I still think you’ve achieved quite a bit.I’m not an A lister by any stretch of the imagination. Sometimes I get to hang out with them and play bass though. Most of my session/production work is at the indie level for sure.

Major props from me to you.

I wasn’t too bad on Lead Sheets, standard notation.....ishhh....very very average. In my youth I practiced sight reading but have only need to read notation two or three times, so I barely even know what I’m looking at these days. Everything is the number system around here

Nashville number system, never tried.
IMO its the most boring thing to practice in the history of human kind.
Thats a fact!
The number system is awesome for many reasons, I think. You can track a song in a bunch of different keys without needing to rewrite the chart. That alone is a huge time savings
As long as it's not crap ta cu lar like the classical number bull crap.

New studio chair arrived today. Serious luxury. It's actually my work from home office chair, so the company helped me out, though I'd have paid for it myself based on the last year of back pain.
Let's see if it helps my music production.
It's not great for bass playing, but it can work for that.
Don't leave us guessing, what did you get?!?!
Plus the huge cardboard box it came in effectively turned my apartment into a 2 bedroom and I might sublease the box![]()
I went big. Herman Miller Embody Gaming edition. I had looked at the Aeron before but the seat curve was not comfortable and the mesh wasn’t supporting my back enough. So, yeah. For someone who sits as much as I do, I don’t feel bad about it. Plus the huge cardboard box it came in effectively turned my apartment into a 2 bedroom and I might sublease the box![]()
My studio chair for over 20 years is a Herman Miller Aeron. It’s still awesome after all this time. One of the best studio investments I ever made!
I want to get a new chair, but it has to have removable armrests so I can play bass or guitar with it when I want.
