Three things:

1. Listening to Boards of Canada for the first time.

Slightly obsessed with Boards of Canada’s “Tomorrow’s Harvest” record today. Not sure why let that one slip past me when it came out. So good

It's my favorite Boards of Canada record.

I only ever heard the name of this group - I think I thought it was like Death Cab for Cutie (who I may have heard once) - I've been missing out! (on Boards of Canada, not Death Cab for Cutie)

2. Only yesterday I realized that this thread is in the effects forum! I don't know where I thought it was before, I guess I never thought about it.

3. I bought a Pork & Pickle! Liking it so far. It was kind of an impulse buy, happened to be on the other side of the Bay (from Oakland) shopping and my wife said we should go to the music store on that side since we were there (I mentioned it, knowing that they might have one in stock). Tried it out, it seemed to do what I wanted it to, and I had some cash on me. Actually, there's another story buried in there - I put the cash in my wallet about a month ago, planning to head over to my local Guitar Center, and if they had something I wanted I'd grab it - retail therapy, which I haven't done in a LONG time. Guess what? NOTHING! But it worked out in the end.

I guess one more thing is that I'm still lusting after the DFAM/Subharmonicon combo, and actually I sold a pedal (SolidGoldFX Beta Germanium) on Reverb so I'm $100 closer! Oh wait, still behind $69 for the Pork & Pickle...

You really need to listen to BoC's first album. This stuff is about 20 years old now, so it's gone from "inducing nostalgia" to "actual nostalgia", but it's brilliant and trippy stuff. I'm pretty sure this is the track I heard many years ago that got me into this group.

Okay just one more. This one really gets me. I don't know much about sampling and have no experience, so I can't imagine how the BoC guys did this. About half way through the track there is this weird sample of a human voice that is kind of whispering and stuttering which is remarkable. It's another great example of how BoC manages to sound happy and creepy AF at the same time.

None yet. I had been thinking about a few new modules. This could save a few bucks and some space depending on what I want to grab. That said… I don’t love my Zoia’s sounds or the interface. They’re fine but don’t facilitate creation for me. I’m still thinking though.

I'm going to try and record some demo stuff with it (whether I release or not is another story) - is there anything in particular you're interested in? I'm basically happy with the mild overdrive with a nice healthy dose of clean.

What speakers did you get? I have a pair of Focal Alpha 80’s and a pair of Focal ShapeTwins. Big fan of that company
