I tried to get something along the lines of what you were after. I used a delay for multiple repeats in a reverb. The reverb keeps getting trigged by the repeats so the already lengthy tail keeps going. A little distortion up front to help with the sustain.

I had a sound I was happier with going into my monitors, but once I started recording direct something got lost in translation and I had to adjust.

Edit - There's also a setting or two on the Empress EchoSystem you might like. I linked to the Triggered Mulit Swell time stamp (around 2:13). Listening to this almost makes me wonder if I should reconsider selling my EchoSystem...

That thing is nuts. If you decide to sell it, give me a heads up.

welp, i'm actually playing a low-key gig this weekend. first time playing about in almost exactly 21 months.

30-40 minutes for an art opening in downtown l.a. all improv duo with a vocalist who does electronics. i'm doing the maiden voyage of my red panda setup.

almost seems odd to be doing this after so long . . .

Actually I was looking at it and thinking "that's really probably the right number of expression pedals." No thinking "which toggle do I need to press to control the right parameter?" issues that I have.

In other news:

As with the Lyra, Youtube is going to fill up with drones from this thing over the next few months: it gives you Frippertronics in a box. To use a Steve Lawson term, it is very easy to "overstuff the badger" with it.

It definitely has a mind of its own, and it's sort of the opposite of the Octatrack, where you can control everything to a fault. So far, the coolest thing is switching the algorithms with sound in the buffer. I am also liking the granular sound and will explore more. I'm also getting my head around how blur and drift behave in mono.

i'm here to help.

strangely i was practicing using this stuff last night and was operating (alternating) four at a time: two by foot, two by hand. so i actually do use them all.

(i'm using them for blend control.)

Agree on the UI. I have a Typhon but the screen is quite helpful. Still waiting for my bug free analog or hybrid MPE poly. It’ll come.
