Critter & Guitarri stuff is interesting. It's a bit pricey and not really in line with the analog and effects pedal-oriented approach I've been taking, but it is very GAS-inducing. I have a couple of C&G video synths I bought some years ago, which were fairly cheap, limited on options, and no longer made, but they are decent build quality and do exactly what was advertised. I may wind up acquiring an Organelle someday. This kind of lo-fi dreamy stuff has been on my radar for a while, since I've gotten into bands like Duster and a really obscure band called Trouble Books.
i thought about this. I would say that the most important purchase of my past few years has been lessons. Not exactly buying practice time but….
most def an excellent investment. it makes the time you put in all the more “worth it” and productive no doubt
I just feel guilty\lazy not putting the time.
Definitly not woodeshdding like I was in my 20s, but I still need to do it.
So the contest I entered has been decided - I made it into the top 15 or so out of 30 so not bad! Here is my entry:
I had fun using my bass to trigger my Moogerfoogers and other semi-modular gear. One of the tracks I posted recently grew out of these experiments - I've got a total of 5 performances/videos out of the experiments so I can't complain - even if I didn't win...

Actually spent time tonight trying to get the computer and the Black Sequencer talking to each other and using some bass tracks I recorded.
I made progress sending midi data to the sequencer and recording it there. I found for the current project it was easier to just program the steps manually. Part of my problem is arranging the song sections. I’m not sure if I want certain parts with A or B variations to be one long “section” or two shorter “sections.” Regardless, I’m working on a simple track so it isn’t critical, and it’s a good stepping stone on my way forward.
It was fun to get things to a point where there’s a VST drum pattern, a live bass loop, and a sequenced hardware synth all playing together. I was even able to toy with some vocal layers (I hate this part so much, and I’m going to vocal synth/effect it to death).

Dirtywave M8. Kind of like a pocket Octatrack. Great to use when traveling. Learning curve for sure, but like the Octatrack, you can get up and running fairly quick, then learn the rest in small chunks.
GFI Synesthesia- Cool modulation pedal
Gamechanger Light Spring Reverb Pedal-
Quirky and arguably overpriced, but very interesting and unique
Norand Mono- quirky and arguably overpriced BUT, it sounds fantastic and the sequencer is kind of crazy in a good way.
Bergantino HDN212- Awesome and light weight.
On The Fence- 2021 Gibson Non Reverse Thunderbird bass. Looks and plays nice enough, but for now I still prefer my ‘02 Gibson Reverse TBird and Fano JM4
Mesa Subway 215- killer weight and form factor. Nice on electric bass in an OG way, not quite as great on upright. Same for my Mesa Subway 115
Miss-
‘89 Greco Reverse TBird- a couple pro friends swear they’re way better than Gibsons and cost a lot less. Mine is too heavy, neck dives a bit and I don’t like the neck profile as well. Sounds a lot like my Fano, but doesn’t play or balance as well.
Hits-

Gretsch G5422G 12 string. Fun, cool sounds, but I'm not much of a guitarist yet to take full advantage of it.
As an aside, have any of you had any experience with the Chase Bliss Mood? Looks like it's all I could want in a looper/blender/pedal with a brain of it's own
