imo, tube preamps tend to have high end sheen or attack that i don’t like. (and i’ve tried more than a few: first demeter, f2b, early ampeg svt rack, swr [both the 400 amp and the stand-alone pre], blue tube, genz amps with tube pre).
f2b is cool if you want a dual showman style sound.
not always convinced that tube preamps do much for me in the low end.
for me, tube power is always a little slow in response, so if speed is your game, i don’t think it’s great.
i think solid is especially better for mids/low mids/lows.
