I'm planning my escape from Hollywood. Townhouses and apartments are off my list. I've been under market for a while due to rent control, so I think I'm gonna splurge and rent a house in an area I might want to buy in. I might get a spot where I can have a dedicated studio room. The only thing I'm afraid of is the new formula will be more space for gear but less cash for gear. :nailbiting:

I have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house and it's just me and two cats. Not opulent by any means, but I definitely feel like it's too much space. There's definitely a happy medium that needs to be found, and the urge to fill empty space with stuff is a very real thing.

I understand this. My mom lives in the house I grew up in, which is 3 bed and 2 bath and she’s expressed the feeling that it’s too much space. I’m moving out of a 1 bed apartment with a big closet, so if I move into something too big it will feel depressingly empty, and I don’t want to buy tons of furniture to fill it.

I basically love anything time-stretched. Hadn't considered using RX for this--but now I will try it!

I don't have one, but was considering for awhile when I was thinking about Eurorack sampling as a thing I might do. So I read the threads and watched the videos.

It seems to be relatively bug free and well-interfaced. It's not as powerful as the Rossum one but in exchange you get more immediacy.

I am behind in this thread - there are tracks I need to listen to - been busy, plus my 22-year old cat had a stroke - amazingly, she has recovered significantly!

Anyway, wanted to ask - any thoughts on the Neon Egg Planetarium? It's a reverb/delay/chorus/compressor, I saw one for sale locally last year but didn't know what it was, once I figured it out it was gone. A couple have come up on Reverb, I'm tempted, but it's expensive. I almost pushed the button last night, but this morning realized that 1) there's other gear I could spend the money on (cheaper reverb, Moog Matriarch, Ric 4003S/5) and 2) who knows what kind of vet bills I'm going to be getting. But maybe you can still convince me to get the Planetarium :p

Good to hear your cat is recovering. I've got one that will likely need surgery next week. Animals always come before gear!

Likewise, best wishes to your cat. We are just stunned - she couldn't support herself on her legs when we brought her back from the vet - had to carry her to her food and litter box - but by the second day she was walking on her own, by day 3 she's ready to try jumping on the couch by herself! Of course we can't let her do that - she's still unsteady - so me or my wife have to stay with her at all times.

Animals always come before gear! - quote of the year so far for me!

RX is great for extreme time/pitch changes, I think :)

Ha! I’ve never tried one, but lots of folks love it. I was concerned with the tiny screen and not enough info that I’d get frustrated by it. I have too many button combos to memorize already :)

Gah, I definitely want it - I can imagine using it with synths etc., or maybe also using it with my 8-string Rickenbacker. But I definitely don't need it.

Also, I understand how sidechain works, but don't see myself using it personally. But then again, maybe it's something I could/should learn and work on.

@lucas303, how are you liking the Mercury7? That's one I've had my eye on, though that's partly because I've been on a Blade Runner binge (only Black Lotus & 2049 which is Vangelis-less, though I've got the Final Cut of the original cued up in my DVD player)

I've only had it for a day or so now and haven't had much time to mess with it. I'll probably spend more time with it this weekend and will report back then. My initial impression is definitely positive though.
