Here's the guts of my 1999 WT500 that David Norschow upgraded to the 800-watt power supply of the WT800 (A model). The difference is primarily the larger toroidal transformer and the 6 large black capacitors instead of the smaller toroidal transformer and only 4 of the capacitors that the WT500 normally uses for its 500-watts. It was fairly easy to do because the WT500, WT600, and WT800 all shared the same power section; they just used different power supplies to run it.
My WT500/800 was made in 1999 and resided on David's test bench in his Cabinet design lab until he left Eden in 2009. It was on E-bay originally with the claim that it belonged to the amp designer at Eden, which would of course be the Eden founder David Nordschow. I was active on the Eden forum at the time and Lane Baldwin was the chief moderator, so I asked him if that amp was legit. He said he didn't know but would ask David. After checking with David he said yes, it was legit and yes, it had been upgraded to 800-watts by David. He further said it was the amp David had used from 1999 until he left in 2009 to design all the Eden cabinets, including the XST cabs.
I placed a bid on it but was outbid. However David had put a reserve on it and no bids reached the reserve. Lane asked me a few days later if I had bought it and I told him no, I was outbid but the bidding didn't reach the reserve. He asked if I still wanted it and I said yes. Then he asked what was the most I could pay for it. I told him the max I could do and that had been my max bid. He told me he'd check with David to see if he'd let it go for that. David said yes, I sent him the $$ by Paypal and about a week later I got the amp. He had signed it as David Nordschow instead of his usual "David Eden" and also noted and initialed that it had been upgraded to 800-watts. Although I use Davids DNA-800 for most of my gigs, I still pull this one out to use in wide open outdoor venues and Music Festivals. It's just a great amp. It produces 400-watts rms into 4Ω per channel and bridges at 800-watts into 8Ω.
