Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

agree that drive in the rocket bass demos sounds more pushed tube amp like than the SCRDI does.
I am going to once again stick up for the Scrambler. In the DI and BA amps, it was implemented in a rather unusable way because it cut bass the more drive you added. That was fixed in the separate Scrambler pedal, and it's actually one of my favorite circuits for bass now. But I'll agree that the SGT sounds much improved and I will patiently await them making a separate SGT pedal :D

Here's a thought. Wouldn't it be nice if manufacturers ran on an actual schedule? Maybe keeping mum about a new product until it was ACTUALLY available. I can understand how buying then waiting for a new amp would become very frustrating every time the manufacturer or store pushes back the date. As I've gotten older I've become more patient and more dubious about release dates. I decided if I want something new I'll wait until TB'ers report back that they're arriving to their homes or sitting in music stores. Less frustration that way.

Well, I know you're up in Alaska with nobody around you for 90 miles, but we do have a bit of a pandemic still going on :D

Oh stop you silly guy. And by the way our alert level is LOW and we have 80% vaccination and have had NO deaths in Sitka. BUT some normal grocery items have been missing from the shelves FOR MONTHS.

Not out, but I don't like money sitting in someone else's hands too long. I don't NEED it, so if it pushes much past June I'll go another direction

I don’t believe mine will be billed until shipped...

What can you use for toilet paper now that the snow begins to recede???:woot:

I lived in a house way “Back in the Day” where a dog-eared copy of James Clavel’s (sic) “Shogun” sat on the toilet...we all tore pages from the back as necessary... Good read if I recall

Yeah I here on the the scrambler I actually think it works nice to add some grit on more subtle settings than a lot of people seem to say. It’s just not my fav. At more extreme settings it’s still workable , there are just so many good drive options these days it has tuff competition. The SGT is nice step up in tone. I look forward to seeing what else Ampeg puts out if this is any indication

I got a 100. It’s my second Rumble (also have a 25). Wanted to compare with the Rocket 112 before I made a purchase but just not meant to be.

Never say never, cxc! I'd save all the tags and paraphernalia that comes with the Rumbler just in case you audition the 'Peg over the summer. You may like it better and make an exchange or sell it. On the other hand, you may love the 100 and be happy forever. I'm currently a frustrated owner of the same combo because I'm worn out constantly messing with the EQ to get it to sound decent in a room. I know of the baked-in goodness vibe and that if you want flat you have to do some knob twirling, but I also combos that you can leave pretty much flat or with nary a turn of the bass to warm it up a bit. See what you think as you try it out at home, and if you agree with me, then audition the Ampeg when it finally arrives. Again, if you're happy, that's all that matters.

Also, if you feel like adding another club to your sig, check out the Combo Club. We love everything combo and you might find some different perspectives. See ya!

Still really excited for either the 112 or 115. I gave up on trying to look for a matching cab for my Magellan 350, so for now I’m going all-digital with a Line 6 POD Go. Saving some space for the Rocket Bass combo as my “main” amp.
