Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

I have one of the old 100 watt rocket amps, it doesn't have enough bottom for me.
Ditto to my old B-200r Rocket Bass. It sounded great in the live band mix but it’s not full enough for pleasant home use. Recently acquired a vintage one in good condition and confirmed this. Boxy.

My new RB-110 is much improved in the fullness department, a very important enhancement especially when most may use the sub-250 watt models in a home studio/bedroom situation.

I haven't had mine apart for a while but I don't remember it being ported, and yes boxy describes it to a T, I was disappointed as people were raving about them.

Yes, that's right, right after I got it the baffle board starting vibrating a real lot so I never really used it, I still have to have someone look at it and glue it into place, I've used drywall screws in the past right through the outside of the cabinet but this thing is in nice shape so ah...nope .
My B200R is just a cabinet now. Used it as my home practice amp for years, and when the head kept acting up I just pulled out the chassis and starting using the cabinet with a PF-350. Still works great!

I'm gonna briefly butt in to this thread - I know there aren't many reviews out there yet, but a fellow TB'er is willing to buy one of my 810E cabs, so I want to pickup a smaller rig with those funds. So the question is - Micro-VR, or a RB-210? Which, and why? I've got analysis paralysis. I live only a few miles from Bass Central, but they don't stock either of these for a A/B comparison. Killin' me...

The micro VR is wicked cool to look at and would make a killer practice combo but it’s very quiet and doesn’t offer much for boom.

Micro VR sounds great and can do quiet-to-medium gigs (especially with a second SVT210AV) but the Rocket has more power, a lot more if you add the second cab.
