You may be looking at the housing’s revision sticker. You’d need to look at the main board inside the amp. Rev H is what you’re looking for in there.

basically, if you openit up and look at the main PCB, if it has the chip labeled ICE2A265. you're good to go.

True, the SVT 7 will always show C00 on its chassis. The "real" revision is to be found on its mainboard. So you need to open the amp.
Like shown above.

I can attest, that’s a slamming rig right there.

Later on, I went the Mesa route and couldn’t be more happy, but I rocked quite a few gigs with that very rig. The cab was a little dark for my tastes, but no doubt it’s very capable in the right hands.

Simply Ridiculous.
Had one it blew up. They had fine print preventing me from having it serviced under warranty. It was a floor model......ampeg refused any service whatsoever. Rev C.
Same as all the ones in boxes at the shops warehouse.
7 pro should be off the market.
I say that and I like ampeg.

Still have my old USA svt 4 pro. Awesome amp.

I disagree , it's an awesome amp. To me, probably one of the best amps I ever owned and played. And I have owned SWR SM-400, Ampeg SVT 4 Pro, Mesa Carbine, Mesa M-Pulse 600, MEsa Titan V12.
Basically the SVT 7 was a backup for my Titan V12. I ended up selling the Titan.

The SVT 7 Is lightweight, extremely powerful and very well designed with great features.
Yes there has been some mistakes with the amp, but it's now problem free.

Took what.....8-10 years to get one that works and doesn't blow up mid gig.
What an accomplishment.

And I dig ampeg like I previously mentioned.
they just major dropped the ball on that one.

I have one I bought when they first came out.(2010-11 ?) Went out three times. Ampeg fixed it three times. On the last shutdown I waited till right before the warranty expired.( Give LOUD tec. time to figure it out) Tec. said Ampeg FINALLY fixed the cause. Have not had a problem in over four years of heavy use. It has EARNED my trust. Rugged and Sounds Great Too !!

My guess is this is intentional, to me it's build to run clean. Some say they use it overdriven. It's a bit of a mystery for me as I never found a way to overdrive it.

However, did it really take that long? I had in mind 3 to 4 years, not more.

Got a possibly dumb question that I probably know the answer to. The church I play at isn’t big on stage sound. Everything is di w/ iems, been using a bddi to get the svt tone but I figure I might as well use the real deal. It is possible to just run the head as an over glorified di box right?

Yes, you can do that. I’ve used the DI for recording with no speaker connected.
And it sounds fantastic!

No! If you guys are talking about the all tube SVT amp, then no you can't run it without any load.
Well, you can , but you will slowly destroy the power tubes. All tube amps MUST be used with a cab!

Now, if you guys talk about the SVT 7 then it's not a problem at all to use it as a DI.
